Last year when there was lightning against Houston they wasted no time calling it for a loss for us. This year they are sure taking their sweet time with the decision. Just call it.

I'm not sure why I'm waiting for this. Especially since CSN is playing Mike North's morning show and it's making me die inside.

Yea come on call this thing. We have a day game tomorrow as it is, let the guys get some rest please. Am I right in assuming Soto will get the day off tomorrow?

Am I the only person listening to WGN Radio and heard the Cubs won?

I was watching CSN waiting for the game, but then Mike North came on. I'd rather be shot in the face then watch that so I just started watching a movie.

Well Lou just said they will rest a few players tomorrow. Id expect Hoff at 1st base, Scales at 2nd, Hill catching, and Reed in the OF. Not sure which OF I expect to get the day off, or if 2 of them will.

Good thing is we face Gaudin this time and not Lincecum.

Lou just said that he's planning on "resting people" tomorrow and I shudder to think what that means? Will we see a repeat of the Lincecum game? I hope not. I know they say 2/3 every series will get you over 100 wins, but it sure would be nice to sweep a series. We swept quite a few last year and it was fun.

Meh that lineup vs Lincecum managed 3 runs, Id hope with Gaudin on the mound they could manage 3-4. Dempster just needs to be smart and not pitch to AG, and this lineup should do nothing against him. Just throw strikes, and dont let AG beat him, and the Cubs should manage to win.

I'm quite confident that our backups are capable of beating Gaudin. Hell, I generally feel better right now with Hoff and Scales over Lee and Miles anyway.

C'mon Marmol, just one more out.

One of these days, Marmol's control is going to kill us in an important spot.

Oh no, I hope that doesn't happen. The horror, to think that one of these days Marmol will allow runs to score and lose a game. No other reliever has had to deal with that tragedy.

I'm sure as soon as it happens, you'll forget how many times his control won innings that eventually led to winning games.

I said important spot. That doesn't mean a Wednesday night game against the Padres. I don't think you have a clue what your talking about, because no where did I mention that his control is an issue. I am the guy who has complete confidence in Marmol even if he comes in and walks the bases loaded in a 1 run game. As soon as he hits the strike zone, he's godly. But the man isn't perfect. One of these days in a critical game, he's gonna fail and it's gonna suck. Doesn't mean I'll forget the other times he saved our butts.

My prediction:

Our replacements struggle against Gaudin tomorrow and we get to hear a bunch of whining about letting Gaudin go.

Hoff and Scales in are almost certainly upgrades unless that means Miles is in at short

We should whine about Gaudin being let go regardless, that was a weird move

Much like the Giants, out backup lineup is better than the Padres regulars. Just keep walking Adrian. When theres a hitter that good in a lineup that bad, theres really no reason to ever give said hitter anything hittable.

be sarcastic all you want, but he's walked 17 guys in 17 innings, which is friggin terrible, and he has to cut the crap.

Marmols control has been off all season. Even the strikes he throws are no where near where the catcher sets them up.
