This looks like a fun matchup. I wonder who'll be more dominant.

On one side you've got a pitcher who's consistently awesome (Peavey)

On the other side you've got a pitcher who's the best pitcher in MLB when he's on, but that requires him to be "in the zone" (Harden)

I believe Peavy is more consistently awesome at Petco than he is on the road.

No excuse for Hoff not to be in the lineup tonight against a guy who is giving up an .800 OPS against leftys. Really no reason for Soto either.

Ugh. I was watching SportsNite last night and dreaded the 'good injury news' that will put an inferior hitter back into our lineup over Hoffpauir.

BTW, I'm on deck to start the next thread and won't be home until a little past midnight tonight, so if we lose, hold tight for a bit and I'll have the thread up by late-night.

Man, outside of Adrian Gonzales the Padres lineup is pretty horrible.

Yeah, it's pretty bad...but I kinda feel that the Cubs lineup doesn't look all that great either, beyond Sori, Theriot & Kosuke, w/ Sori being the only one to strike any fear in the hearts of the opposing staff.

Does Gonzalez kill us, or is it just me?

I think he's maybe the most underappreciated freaking awesome hitter in baseball.
