I heard Scales homered. I love his story. Sticking around for 11 years in the minors just so he could possibly know what it was like to play in the Majors some day. How many times he must have daydreamed about his first big-league HR.

Good for you, Mickey. I hope you never forget tonight.

Especially considering his roller coaster ride to get here the past few weeks. First hes flown to Chicago to learn that hes going back. Then He gets up and does OK for himself. Then in comes Freel, and its apparently the end of the line for him. Then down goes Ramirez and he stays some more. Seriosuly between Scales and Freel, they need to shop Miles.

Why bother shopping him? We ate Vizcaino's contract, just DFA him and if no one takes eat his contract too

It's a little different eating a contract that has money for next year in it. The Cubs already know their budget for 2009 when they cut Vizcaino so they know how that will affect it. They don't know how much wiggle room they will have for 2010.

Plus, Vizcaino was a candidate to be cut from the time he put on a Cubs uniform. It's not like the Cubs really wanted him, which is different from the commitment they have shown to Miles.
