According to the Score, the Commissioner's office will review the AB to "determine Dempster's intent."

I really don't see anything coming out of it. First Braun squared to bunt and was over the plate, pitchers often throw up and in when players square to bunt, second the ball never hit Braun in the head (it hit his bat), and third Dempster finished up real goofy after the pitch and it is plausible that he might have slipped a little in his delivery that threw off the location of the pitch.

I like Macha in that he doesn't seem liable to get caught up in trying to play a psychological game of beanball like Yost was (the image of warming up Seth McClung for the sole purpose of hitting Albert Pujols, knowing full well he'd get ejected is still fresh in my mind). I don't like in that he's whining about crap like this in the media. Let the players handle it the way they want to...if Braun wants to complain about what happened in Pittsburgh through the media, let him. If Fielder would rather respond by hitting a 400-foot home run, let him. Let the players do the talking on the field, and stay the hell out of the way. Recommending that the league take a look at it so beyond stupid and is something an NBA coach does.

He needs to shut up and be happy with the fact that his team is hot right now, instead of whining about something that had no effect on the games played over the weekend.

No one seems to care if we get hit, but as soon as we're throwing the pitch there's a freaking investigation. Even if the pitch was an effing foul ball.

I saw the game live, and judging by the way the ball came out of Dempster's hand, I don't think it was intentional at all.

Braun certainly deserves alot more than that, though. Aside from his fist-pumping and shirt-untucking, just the way he walks/jogs makes me angry. The guy can't move a muscle without showing off in some regard.

Also, I have very little respect for the Brewers when it comes to this type of thing. Last time I checked, they threw at Edmonds' head last year just for hitting a couple homers.

I can already hear the results. Milton Bradley has had 2 more days added to his suspension for the near Braun beaning by Ryan Dempster.

Did anyone investigate after Reed Johnson was hit in his AB after robbing Fielder a few weeks back? Gonna need to start a chart or somthing to keep track of who owes who a bean ball.

I never did understand that beaning. Guy makes a great catch, so you plunk him?

Maybe the Brewers were mad that Reed made a hole in the wall with his spikes.

I don't think Ender was ever banned or anything. He knew what he was talking about, just talked about it from a Brewers slant, and wasn't obnoxious. He was fine.

Brewers lead the league in Pitcher HBP so far this season.

But that's only because their pitchers don't have any control. Ryan Dempster on the other hand has perfect control and can't accidentally miss his spot.

Wow i hope you're kidding because if you aren't, that has to be the dumbest post i've ever read on this board to say that Dempster has perfect control.

Actually I think he did get banned. If I remember right, it was for something in a game thread. I may be wrong though. Yea he knew what he was talking about for the most part, but he really toed the line on some stuff. But there have definately been alot worse here.

Are you guys ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY certain the ball hit Braun's bat? Anybody have a video link so I can check it out myself?

If so, and Braun sold it like he got hit in the head, then that is extremely cheap of him. I would start to hate him in that case.

All sources (except Braun and Macha) indicate it did.

Alright, near perfect control. As close to perfect control as you can get without technically fulfilling the absolute standards of perfection.

Dempster was ruled to have hit Braun in the helmet in the fifth inning of the Cubs-Brewers game at Miller Park, but replays showed the ball grazed the bat.

heheheh

He was being a pain in a playoff game thread last season. Here is where discussion of what happened to him began.

That would be an awesome headline for The Onion
