but a couple teams got in that shouldn't have and they were fighting the refs all year, too. they didn't get any calls.

Which team's do you think should have been out?

And really? You're going to blame the refs?

Utah [expletive] State has no business in, and our resume is better than Minny also. Cal as an 8 is a [expletive] joke, and Florida a 10 is absurd

lol Greg Anthony suggested Siena should be favored over Purdue.

I mean I know they looked like crap yesterday but I don't think I would go that far.

I hate KU's bracket. I see losses at every turn. UNI is exactly the kind of game I wanted to avoid.

They got the best 2 seed. It's ridiculous

So many power conference teams, too. Kind of frustrating. MSU, Georgetown, tOSU, Tennessee.... lots of good teams.

Won't matter LeHigh is gonna beat you.

our last 1st round run-in with a Patriot League team didn't go so hot.

How could Marquette or Notre Dame be sleeper teams? They both just got given a 3+ seed gift.

Duke got the weakest 2, the weakest 3, an injury-addled 4, ridiculously overseeded 6/8/9s...that's a stupidly unfair draw in their favor.

Utah St's 2nd best win was [expletive] WICHITA STATE

[expletive] THIS

Come on. They are 20th in Pomeroy ratings and 31 in the RPI. They deserved to be in. They were 10-5 versus the RPI top 100. Illinois was 6-10.

Did Utah State play a lot of top 25 teams? No. They did play a decent schedule. They played a lot of good teams but few great teams. Their strength of schedule is 100 which isn't good but not bad either.

Well if they lose to Siena I would not be shocked I guess I can admit that.

Fortunately Duke isn't really that good so they will lose to one of those teams. \:D/

As a Marquette grad, I'm a little floored. The only thing I can think of is that the committee did one of two things. They relied (albeit too heavily) on the eye test, taking into account all the close games and winning conference road record. The second is that they favored Sagarin and/or Ken Pom rankings as compared to RPI placement. Sagarin has us at 24 (last six) and Ken Pom at 28 (last seven). Still, I'm shocked and not complaining, all things considered. We got a break in seeding, as I thought we were headed for a 8/9 against Kansas or Kentucky.

Also Illinois had 4 losses to RPI 100+ while Utah State only had 2. In addition to that both lost to Utah. Illinois lost by two on neutral court while Utah State lost by one at Utah.

It's pretty obvious that Utah State has the better resume unless you want to get caught up on their only red mark which is they only played one top 25 team.

Way to be a [expletive]. Typical Illinois fan. Oh I didn't get my way so I'm going to take the low road.

EDIt: I will enjoy my dream season. Next year when all but Kramer and Grant are back.

19-14 (10-8) just isn't going to get you in, regardless of resume

RPI is terrible if only 2 of Long Beach St., Northeastern, Utah, New Mexico St. TWICE, and Louisiana Tech are at 100+. They beat BYU, and lost to St. Mary's. Those were their only games against teams with a chance at an at large. Their resume doesn't touch Illinois with all their quality wins.

Hey now, his team had Robbie Humell on it. That makes him a basketball expert.
