Now THAT was nice. 20 and 10 for Gody in just 25 minutes, staying within the offense, the entire team handling Seton Hall's press pretty well. Now we have a quarterfinal draw against a team we blitzed two weeks ago.

I wonder if Doug Gottlieb still thinks we are on the bubble.

I could have easily seen Notre Dame missing the field if they had lost that game.

Me too, because I'm sure it would've been a nice historical boon to be the first team in the 64-team era to be left out after posting winning power-conference records 3 times within 6 years. But no matter.

Andy you have to stop caring about what a team's record is in a bloated big east with horribly unbalanced schedules

And it would be 3 times in 7 years. And the reason it happens is because ND never schedules anybody out of conference and still manages to lose a game to some horrible team in noncon every year. (In '05 and this year they added Rutgers losses in conference for good measure)

With losses to Loyola Marymount, Northwestern, Rutgers, Cincinnati and St. John's. They have an elite offense. But their defense is the 176th most efficient according to Pomeroy.

Shh!!! Let him think that the world is out to get poor ND.

I'd love to see what Pomeroy has ND's defense rated as the last 5 games, because that team is a hell of a lot different than the one that started the year or even the one that was playing a month ago.

Yes, that is what I said. I presented factual evidence. (6 years, not 7. 03-04 to 09-10 is 6 calendar years. Semantics, I guess.) What you draw from it is your own business.

ND basketball has been good for 1 month in the last 2 years and I'm already managing to piss people off. God forbid the football team ever stop sucking, I guess.

So if ND missed the tournament, you'd say they missed the tournament twice in one year?

Yes, I know. Semantics. Whatever. And you don't have to tell me about the non-con schedule. You can look through this thread and probably find at least 10 posts containing my moaning about it. It drives me nuts. Thankfully it won't keep the Irish out.

Where do you get six years from?

03-04 and 04-05 they missed out with winning records, 05-06 they were sub-.500, 06-07 and 07-08 they made the tourney and 08-09 they were sub-.500. This year, 09-10, had they missed would have been the third time they missed in seven seasons.

6 years, 7 seasons. I was trying to further emphasize the point and shouldn't have. Stupid idea.

Yeah, Brackins has regressed a ton this year. Gilstrap is easily the MVP of this team, and would be a bigger loss if he doesn't get a 6th year.
