Purdue getting a #1 seed would be great for them. Every year I talk myself into having an irrational bias towards a #1 seed (usually it's Memphis, last year it was UConn) and I pick them to be ousted fairly early in my bracket. That #1 seed never, ever, ever, ever gets knocked out early, usually winning at least three games.

All this is a long-winded way of saying that Purdue would likely be that team this year if they're seeded 1, thus guaranteeing them a long tournament run.

Would it be a biased pick or do you like Purdue less than Kentucky, Kansas and all the other possible 1 seeds?

Both. The only Big East team that's been mentioned for a 1 that I don't really like is WVU (and that's probably colored by the fact that ND somehow beat them).

what a [expletive] horse [expletive] move by the refs. Weber's gotta go out to half court to get their attention for the time out. They ignore him and call a 5 second call against us, and then because he bitched about it they force him to take it after the turnover.

At least it's only the use it or lose it TO.

Might've helped us, cause Weber would've used it after the Johnson miss, and we wound up with 3 points without the TO anyway

Can anyone explain to me how it is that you can be too old to play basketball at a high level, but that isn't the case to officiate it? Isn't it still the same fast paced game?

It's absurd. There should be an age limit if they're not interested in actually grading out the refs on their performance. I don't care what age they sat it at, as long as it's younger than Jim Burr

LOL, that's pretty much who I had in mind when I typed that.

I've been getting into betting on college basketball, mostly for fun. I've been spotchecking myself against Pomeroy's #s, not really following them to a tee, but just making sure my initial thought isn't crazy. (I did make one bet solely on his #s today cause he's got BYU winning by about 10 more than the spread.)

Anyway, I went through the spreads of the games that are finished and checked em with how Pomeroy would tell you to bet. 8-12. Guess I'll stick with blowing my money on my own stupidity rather than the #s
