Had courtside seats tonight. Iowa played well for most of the night but really wore down in the second half. Purdue didn't play well in the first half but it didn't seem like it was because they were disinterested. Just didn't hit some shots and weren't sharp.

Purdue may be the most annoying team in the league, nay the country. Or at least they are when you have Ted "The Hammer" Valentine bending you over. Seriously they should be called for 2 fouls every possession. MSU is super physical also but nothing like PU. Then when they do finally get called for it, they whine more than anyone. It's just not basketball.

I love watching Moore, Johnson and Hummel play and they carry themselves well. Kramer is a douche, Barlow was a total punk jawing all night when he didn't do ish and Keaton Grant has always bugged me.

I watched the Ball State/Purdue Wooden Tradition and could barely stand it - Purdue was absolutely creaming our guys every time we tried to do anything, and touch fouls were getting called at the other end. It's pretty easy to be 'aggressive' defensively when your strategy is the 'they can't call fouls every time down the floor' technique.

Watch the Penn State-Minnesota game simultaneously as the erstwhile Citrus Bowl.

I've come to the conclusion that officials aren't even trying anymore. After one Penn State basket, a Minnesota player grabbed the ball, hopped backwards and "in-bounded" the ball to initiate a fast break. However, he didn't even come close to establishing himself out of bounds -- in fact, he perhaps had one foot touching the endline with the rest of him in fair ground, so to speak. The official either didn't see it, or chose to completely ignore an obvious violation. I wish I could find a video (or explain it better), but it was egregious (he had Dan Orlovsky's court/field awareness). It's pretty simply, you can't "inbound" the ball while standing in-bounds. I was in-tune to this because the same thing, though less apparent, happened a few times in the IU-Bryant game. Second, evidently traveling has been abolished in college basketball now. Sheesh.

It is a contact sport and I have little interest in the NBA other than the Rockets because of how pussified it is. The ACC is close to the NBA. The Big Ten's physicality and policy of allowing contact is what I love most about it.

This is a joke. In our four losses this season the opposition has shot it's best percentage of the season. Looks like we are headed that way again.

I do not understand how Keller continues to get minutes.

It's against the [expletive] rules. That's why it's called in the NBA and why it's called correctly in other conferences. You aren't allowed to ride a player all night and re-direct him with your hand. That's not basketball and it's a big part of the reason why everyone complains that Big Ten basketball is bad/boring.

Keller shoots every [expletive] time he gets the ball.

but losing to a chucking intramural team ON OUR HOME COURT wouldn't surprise me.

i'm not impressed with northwestern at all, and i'm even less impressed with the defensive intensity the illini are showing. get a hand in their face, they can't put the ball on the florr or do anything else except shoot and foul. a high school team could beat these guys.

It's Bruce Weber's MO to lose to crappy teams on our home court. I am growing tired of this [expletive] even with the upturn in recruiting

I'm reminded of The Office.

Toby: We should really have the office's air quality tested. We have radon coming from below and asbestos in the ceilings - these are silent killers.

Michael: You are the silent killer.
