Oregon State lost at home today.

To Sacramento State.

Sacramento State went 2-27 last year and had lost 38 straight on the road.

Nice job, Beavers.

The Pac-10 is so bad it's not even funny.

I wonder if Dunnigan wishes he would have stayed at home and went to school? Oregon is pretty bad.

Apparently Dunnigan DNP in Oregon's loss to Portland. If he's not playing as a sophomore, you can bet he isn't too pleased.

Admittedly Bobo Morgan is still not getting into games as a sophomore for UCLA.

dunigan's a punk, i take pleasure in his failure.

I thought it was Humphrey that was more the punk?

i wonder if that will hurt them with sam thompson. i hope so. go to the far end of the country in corvallis of all places, away from your friends and family, to lose and lose badly to teams you've never even heard of in ways you've never even dreamed.

haha. i remember arguing with you about paul vs henry. of course, henry is an elite recruit and definitely projected as a difference-maker, but so is paul. henry, at this point, has more pro potential and i think both teams will be happy with who they got.

but imo, paul was way underrated, and it may have been because he committed to illinois so soon. richmond has fallen too, after being nothing short of legendary last year.

I like what I've seen of X so far. I want to see if he can defend, though. I'd also like to see him drive the ball. He's built like an NBA player. He should be able to use his strength to get to the rack.

Tough loss for Indiana 69-66 to George Mason. GMU hit a couple really tough 3 point shots late to pull away including a ridiculous banked in three.

So 8th place in Puerto Rico, 2-3 overall. Oh well.

Ridiculous banked three. Eric Gordon says "Hello." lol.

yeah, if not for that banked 3, i would have gotten over my hatred for indiana a lot sooner.

I'll never forget being at that game and being within an arm's length of the Gordon family. Getting flicked off by his father was one of the greatest moments of my heckling life.

i feel stupid for asking this question, but do redshirt years count against scholarship limits?

Yes. If JB redshirts his scholly is occupied for five years.

just trying to figure out a way to get out of next season. who does bruce ask to leave? semrau's proving to be an important piece and getting rid of simpson would not endear him to public league schools.

He's gonna tell Richard he can play, but that he will have to pay.

he's definitely off to a good start. i think paul stays longer and winds up being more valuable to his college team, though. dwade was a 4 year player, paul will gain some muscle, but it's not like he's skinny.

X is good, but I wonder if he will be able to tap into everything he can do this year. KU is trying to win a title and as a result X will have to play more of a role than most frosh that good do.

probably. i hope he knows what he's doing, but he's been real good so far this year.

UNC shouldn't have been so high in the preseason polls. surprise surprise.

Duke has been very good so far. Jon Scheyer has 21 assists and 0 turnovers in 131 minutes this season.

We're going to rely heavily on him, that's for sure, but it will be a pretty defined role. I don't think he'll be able to tap into everything he can do. What we need most is shooting, defense, and boards out of him. It would probably be better for him to stay a second year from a player dev perspective.. But it might help Self if he went one and done, so players will believe Self can deliver one-and-doners to the NBA.

On the Phog they are saying that Illinois would lose to both Hofstra and Memphis. It amazes me how Kansas fans think they are so much better than Illinois every year, but still feel the need to take shots at us and keep tabs on us. I think we would beat both of those team pretty easily. We aren't that bad anymore.

i don't really know if that's a good thing for KU, though.

and to bring paul back up, weber was really the first guy who got in on him and he was a late-bloomer, coaches didn't have a chance to react before he had verballed.

That's what I remembered about Paul too. Weber has done that a lot recently. Abrams and Leonard committed very early also.

GHETTO Tourney. Broken rim with no replacement. Tried to fix the rim with duct tape. The guy trying to fix it was asked for a new rim, and he replied "I'm not with the venue, I'm the parking guy."

Awesome.

ND smearing Liberty 81-56 in the opening round of the Chicago Invitational with 7 minutes left. Harangody's day ended early, but he still scored 32.

I'm hoping ND can beat Northwestern and ISU can take care of St. Louis Friday to set up Brackins vs. Harangody in the final of this tournament. Iowa State played like crap for 10 minutes vs Mississippi Valley State today before they realized they were playing a SWAC team, put down the hammer, and cruised to a 96-55 win. I think everyone on the roster who isn't hurt/redshirting had 2+ points and 2+ assists+rebounds. Just a night and day difference between this year's offense and last year's.

Probably the last time for awhile Painter signs on to go outside of the country early in the season. Most Keady disciples don't do it because of the risk and distraction and Purdue is looking like crap against St. Joseph's after struggling in the first game.

ESPN has LewJack playing. That can't be true. He was just ruled out indefinitely a week ago and there has been no coverage on the Lafayette paper about him coming back.

There's no way you'd lose to Hofstra. I don't know what to make of Memphis. I'll have to see them in a couple more games against legit teams before I'd feel comfortable assessing how they'd play vs. UI. Right now I'd take UI, though. I think our game vs. Memphis was somewhat anomalous for both teams.

As for the Phog's attitude toward UI, I'm sorry but the UI fans brought it on themselves. They were merciless toward KU/Self his first few years.
