Javier Baez and Dustin Geiger will participate in the FSL HR Derby on Saturday.

Poor Soler.

I knew the Cubs had to have sent more than just Ian Dickson in return for Rodriguez.

Probably a guy who was about to be DFAd and they gave him to the first team willing to give up something with a pulse. They knew that Theo was in the market for anything under 30 years of age who can competently hurl a baseball toward home plate, so the Cubs were first on the list.

Honestly. What is wrong with you?

Thanks to the Buxton/Sano eruptions, the off-season trades, and a good draft, the #Twins might have the top farm system in the game.

Josh Ohnemus ‏@ohnemusj 3m

@ProfessorParks #Cubs have to be top 5 don't they?

Jason Parks ‏@ProfessorParks 2m

Yes. Cardinals still very strong as well, despite losing talent to ML level. RT @ohnemusj @ProfessorParks #Cubs have to be top 5 don't they?

Jason Parks ‏@ProfessorParks 4m

Twins, Cubs, Cards, Padres, Astros. RT @ohnemusj @ProfessorParks So is that your take on the top 3? Twins then Cubs, Cards in any order?

Damn. And if Feldman can keep himself together and Garza can stabilize it might get even better.

This has to be the best the farm system has been since 2000, no?

Glad to see him recognizing Alcantara

Jason Parks @ProfessorParks

#Cubs system is very legit: Bryant (he will sign); Baez, Almora, Soler, Vogelbach, Johnson, Alcantara, etc. They have a lot of talent.

Callis had us an easy No. 1 overall in like 2002 or 2003.

Alcantara getting some press....from CBSSportsLine

Arismendy Alcantara, SS, Cubs

With Starlin Castro locked in at the major-league level and Javier Baez working his way up the minor-league ladder, the Cubs are seemingly overloaded at shortstop. But with neither player considered a defensive standout, the Cubs could still make room in their future lineup for Alcantara, who has begun to put up impressive numbers after an underwhelming start to his minor-league career. His power and patience have improved as he's worked his way up the ladder, to the point he's on a near 20-homer pace at Double-A, with an on-base percentage about 80 points higher than his batting average and an .842 OPS. And speed just so happens to be his best tool.

Isn't Alcantara's defense at SS considered to be less than spectacular and even below Castro/Baez?

I'm not sure how it is relative to those two(top of my head I'd go Castro, Alcantara, Baez), but it's definitely not a particular selling point for him as a prospect.

Like Castro and to a lesser extent, Baez, Alcantara has all the tools to be a plus defender at shortstop but still has struggled.

I'd rank their defense the same way you did.

Is he doing a ranking there or listing a top 5 in any order? Seems plausible that that could be a ranking.

Very likely he was doing a ranking given the rest of his tweets on the topic.
