I know he worked out with the Packers yesterday, but this is bizarre. Apparently he has one year of eligibility left, and is considering playing one year of college QB with hopes to have an NFL career.

Wow, I'd go from completely hating the guy to slightly intrigued. I doubt he could start, but then again if he's this serious he must have some skill left over from HS.

Wasn't he strictly a drop back guy in high school? I suppose if he can play guard in big time college hoops he might be mobile enough to run Dick Rod's spread.

I believe so, 4 time All-State QB with over 140 passing TD's. I would be very interested in seeing him for 1 year at Michigan.

If you're going to pick a team that you have a chance to start with it'd definitely be Michigan. I don't know what I think about this though. I guess more competition for the starting role can only be a good thing.

Don't you have to take a year off when transferring? Maybe if you are transferring to play a different sport you can waive that rule.

if he has a degree, he can transfer without penalty

Lol, a combined Duke and Michigan player would be one of my, theoretically, most hated players ever

we'll see how this turns out

I think this can only turn out great. If he plays, he'll either get killed (win) or gets "sacked" every play because he flops whenever someone gets within 2 feet of him (win).

Besides, nothing says "QB Factory" like starting a PG from Duke that got benched his senior year.

Make it happen DickRod.

He's got four years of coach K "flopping" under his belt...he'll be the easiest QB ever to sack.

Edit: Nevermind, I glanced over this line in GRCubs post

Either way, like others have said, I hope this happens because it would be quite interesting.

Odd. Article in the paper today said that Rich-Rod was really happy with his freshmen QB (Tate Forcier)

But there is nobody behind him since Threet left (Sheridan sucks). The other freshman Qb isnt on campus yet and its unknown if he will play qb/wr/cb. Paulus probably wont start but he might actually get some playing time behind Forcier as the #2 on the depth chart. THis is a little weird though.

Good luck to Paulus. He was rated even higher as a high school QB than as a point guard, if you can believe that. Notre Dame was going after him hard.

That's not the way I understand it. Brey was after him.

Brey could of been after him harder but he was offered a scholarship from ND by Ty.

Paulus, who was offered a football scholarship by Notre Dame and Miami was named Gatorade player of the year, at quarterback but Cutcliffe says Paulus could try out for a spot as an inside receiver as the Blue Devils wind down spring practice. Said Cutcliffe: "We talked but there is no way he'd be able to compete to play for us at the quarterback position. It's just so difficult without playing quarterback for such a long time."

UM has a scholarship available and it wouldnt hinder the 2010 recruiting class schoolies. RR said something a couple weeks ago that they were looking at filing some open spots from the 2009 class and mentioned QB. Wonder if something was in the works then.

I'm not debating he was offered a scholarship, but he wasn't actively pursued by the football program. Of course, one can debate whether Ty actively pursued any recruit.
