Apparently after the 2011 season, the Cubs could opt out of their spring training agreement with Mesa and move somewhere else. I doubt it happens, but it is a situation that bears watching.

Personally, I'd like them to move camp to the Clearwater, FL area where my company has a satellite office...

I'd actually be pretty happy if they moved to Florida. It's a lot easier to talk family and friends into a trip if you can offer them stuff to do other than baseball. Thus far I've never been able to sell them on the non baseball attractions of Mesa.

The fam' can go to Disney World. I'll be at the real amusement park. :D

Stay the heck out of the cess pool of Florida, that's an awful place for spring training. Arizona has been building big beautiful ballparks every other year trying to attract more teams, I highly doubt they'd let their top drawing team leave. It's just posturing by the Cubs to get a sweet stadium deal.

I gotta imagine this is the Cubs trying to get a better complex in Mesa, especially considering some of the new spring complexes being built in the Valley of the Sun.

As a veteran of 3 spring training visits, Arizona is such an awesome place for for baseball in March. Mesa, however, is a dump. Going to HoHoKam is almost as scary as it used to be to go to Comiskey.

Oh come now.

Mesa is a dump, but it's nowhere near that bad.
