So the regular season can start anytime now, Green Bay up 28 at half time in Arizona.

Rodgers is 14-19, 258 yards and 3 TDS. D-R-C just got abused by JerMichael Finley.

The Packers offense has put up yet another dominating performance. At halftime they are beating the Cardinals 38-10.

I just hope for the Packers fans sake that the GB isn't peaking in preseason football.

Our first stringers have outscored opponents by a margin of 76-10.

I'm not going to get too excited but there's no reason the offense shouldn't continue to produce in the regular season. Our air attack is pretty stacked and Grant's in-shape this year.

Basically, this really hasn't changed what I thought of this team even before these preseason games. If our defense can just be average this year, we're going to be pretty good.

I'm more worried about Green Bay than Chicago. Mainly because I just don't know what to make of that defense. They could make a huge jump and be really good or it could be a rough transition and make minimal improvement at best. They have talent over there.

Offensively the passing game should be awesome, I'm just not real high on their o-line and am not sold on Grant. He had a big year in a part-time role and last year couldn't average 4 ypc or get 5 TD despite having over 300 carries in an offense where the passing game opened some things up.

Grant held out most of training camp last year and was out of shape when the season started. I definitely think that had something to do his struggles last year. Plus, Brandon Jackson was great last year as he averaged over 5 yards a carry. Rodgers hasn't been sacked at all in the preseason and the offensive line has looked good in terms of run blocking as well.

Now I don't think he's as good as he was in the second half of 2007, but I definitely think he's capable of putting up good numbers this year. He doesn't have any excuses this time, either.

Thank goodness for college football because I don't think I'll be watching the NFL much this year.

Derek Anderson played 2 drives tonight for Cleveland. Quinn played the rest (up until the early 4th) and played well, going 11/15 for 128 yards and a score. I wouldn't mention this except that the Plain Dealer reported that tonight's game was likely to play a huge role in who won the QB derby there.

Oh. And Carolina sucks.

Relative to the Raiders, they're a Super Bowl team. So at least there's that.

some of the headline quotes from Oakland papers today:

"Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints offense looked to be in midseason form. Unfortunately for the fans in Oakland, the Raiders appear to be as well."

"The Raiders couldn't stop the pass, and to alter a line from the late John McKay, they made up for it by not being able to stop the run."

and this:

"THERE WAS good news for the Raiders' beleaguered run defense Saturday: The New Orleans Saints had so much fun passing the football they barely acknowledged the ground game for much of the afternoon.

There was more good news: No live telecast of the Raiders' 45-7 loss was offered to Bay Area viewers. So unless you were there — and oceans of empty seats at the Coliseum suggest you were not — you were spared what qualifies as a remarkably inept effort even by the standards of the NFL's exhibition season and the Raiders' recent history."

For some reason, we get all the Raiders preseason games in LA; I wish they'd just punish the Bay area.

For some reason? Watched an N.W.A. video recently?

Of course, you probably don't get all the Rams games in LA, but then again, were there any Rams fans in LA?

At this point, I can't imagine the Chargers not winning the AFC West. Unless the whole division goes 4-12 or something.

So Favre apparently may not play tonight and has diagnosed himself with a cracked rib.

Blog says he's expected to play, though, so we'll see. If true, what a selfless warrior.

Favre hasn't had an official diagnosis, but he says taking a deep breath causes discomfort. The 39-year-old quarterback isn't listed on the injury report and no other other Vikings official mentioned the injury pregame.

That almost guarantees they'll go out after a QB. I saw Tyler Thigpen brought up somewhere, that seems like a really good idea to backup Brady.

Cassel's out for the next few weeks, so the Chiefs might hang onto him as an insurance policy.

Ah, thanks. Didn't know how long Cassel would be out. I guess McCown or maybe Patrick Ramsey (if the Titans cut him) might be their best options at this point.

I wonder if they'd have any interest whatsoever in Alex Smith?

I'll say the Chiefs give them a good challenge
