I like the fact that Angelo doesn't feel pressured to take a WR just because everyone is talking about that as a big need. He takes what he feels is the best player and figures he will find a receiver later at a better value.

There isn't a WR who is a good value at this stage. All the top-tier WR are gone already, but there is some possible value later in the draft.

Well The seahawks had arguably the best day of any team. To be able to get the best (arguably) player in the draft at 4 and then trade Alphonso Smith for a 2010 first rounder (its the Denver pick, not the Bears so it has mid round possibility after today's picks) is a pretty good haul.

I am mixed on the 3rd & 4th for Unger. Many said that he had late 1st to early 2nd talent cause he is a solid center but can also play guard but It would have been a better idea to send a 3rd & 5th not 3 &4.

But thats just a petty complaint really. If they got a bad player for that deal, then it would be more of an issue but Unger is Solid and Curry is a stud. Curry, Lofa & Leroy Hill is arguably the best 4-3 linebackers in the league. Add that to a revamped D-Line and the Seahawks defense should be much improved. The next pick should be a DB but we shall see what Ruskell picks. He usually finds a gem in the 5th round so i am confident.

Not to kill your buzz but they took away the tag on Leroy Hill, he's a free agent now.

Also the cowboys can blow me. I hate them and the network's constant coverage of them. They said almost nothing about the Bears.

Great pick by the Bears, either him or Johnson would be perfect and justifies trading down.

Yeah, top player on Kiper and Mayock's boards. FS and DL are both weak from here on out and the Bears chose they one they felt was most needed or the better player. Assuming they will play him at DT, but he and Idonije may rotate at both DL spots.

I'd like to see them keep Gilbert at DE. Although if he can rotate both and it doesn't bother him all the better.

The Bears definitely need a FS with the next pick. We absolutely can not have Josh Bullocks starting for us.

I think Gilbert plays DE

He played both in college and at 288lbs, he'd be one of the biggest 4-3 DEs in the NFL.

He'll prob. play both depending on rotation, he has the quickness of a smaller DE. ESPN mentioned that 2 or 3 of the current DEs are FAs, obviously Cutler is the biggest off-season move but Marinelli is likely up there, I think he can potentially get the DEs (minus Wale) to where they were 3 years ago.

And you think the 99th best player in the draft is going to be good enough to start at FS? That's probably unlikely.

I understand him having versatility, but unless Harris is on the trading block, or they dont ever expect him to be back to his pro-bowl self, DE is a much bigger need

Harris, Adams, and Harrison are the DTs

Ogunleye, Brown, Anderson are the DEs.

With Idonije able to play both. I don't think you can count on Dvoracek being able to do anything. So, I think that DE and DT were about equal in need.

Agreed, there will likely be a better player on the board at a different position of need to where the Bears won't have to overdraft.

anyone sold on Ogun, Brown, or Anderson at this point is living in the past

Harrison is solid, Adams/Toeaina (sp?)/Idonije serviceable, Harris a question mark

Don't take it so literally. I don't mean Johnson coming in and starting right away. Rather someone who will take Bullock's place in the near future. And with the proper coaching yes I think the 99th best player in the draft could take that position over in year 1.
