I feel that Nicks will be gone before Britt will be.

I think Britt's size puts him ahead of Nicks. The added goaline offense dimension that Britt brings would put him over Nicks, IMO.

I mentioned this in the general offseason thread as well, but I've heard Charley Casserley and Mike Mayock on Total Access mention that some teams are considering Jarron Gilbert as an OT instead of a DT.

I don't have a link, but I figured I'd mention it here since I know some who view this thread like Gilbert for the Bears.

I'm not that into Gilbert. I heard that too. They say he doesn't have the attitude to play defense, whatever that means. Too much of a project for me. I don't think he could go on rotation in the DL right away.

I liked him more as a late 2nd or 3rd rounder - you expect more development time from DLinemen taken there.

As a late 1st, early 2nd like I've been hearing recently, I agree with you. He's got some nice potential, but that's too much of a value to use on a project.

this dude's gonna toss 4 picks on opening day and someone is going to murder him

That's alright. He'll rise and come back 100% the next game.

Is anybody else excited about the NFL's schedule release tonight? I have a couple of potential road trips depending on what happens.

I'm planning a couple trips to Nashville this year, just need to know what dates I'll be going.

I'm excited. Bears are said to have the easiest schedule next year based on opponents, but a lot of that is 2 vs. the 0-16 Lions. Getting Arizona or Minnesota in Chicago in December would make things that much more favorable for the Bears. Same goes for playing Pitt and Baltimore early in the year on the road. Another thing to consider is over the last few years teams have sucked after playing the Steelers. So, I'm hoping the Lions or the bye week (same thing right?) immediately follow that game.

Okay, well that sentence confused me.

I don't know what time of year is best for the Bears to face Pittsburgh, but for selfish reasons I'm hoping for early.

No, you interpreted it right. I said it wrong.
