1: An act of stupidity that costs you $35 million.

Burress is done for the season, Giants suspend him for the last four games and place him on the non-football IR.

Also, the Vikings season just got a whole lot harder:

Both their DTs will miss the rest of the season, as will running back Deuce McAllister and defensive linemen Charles Grant and Will Smith of New Orleans.

The Schedule!

Thu, Dec 04

OAK @ SD 8:15 PM

Sun, Dec 07

JAC @ CHI 1:00 PM

ATL @ NO 1:00 PM

CLE @ TEN 1:00 PM

PHI @ NYG 1:00 PM

CIN @ IND 1:00 PM

MIN @ DET 1:00 PM

HOU @ GB 1:00 PM

MIA @ BUF 4:05 PM

NYJ @ SF 4:05 PM

NE @ SEA 4:05 PM

KC @ DEN 4:05 PM

STL @ ARI 4:15 PM

DAL @ PIT 4:15 PM

WAS @ BAL 8:15 PM

Also, apparently in an attempt to make the game at least somewhat interesting to somebody, the OAK-SD game will be shown in 3-D in some theaters: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/columnis ... s-3D_N.htm

(About halfway through the article).

LT will have his best game of the year this week, surpassing his previous best game which came in Week 4 against...big surprise...the Oakland Raiders.

I'll predict 125+ yards and at least 1 TD.

I am incredibly nervous about the Carolina/Tampa game. If we lose our schedule is such that we could easily miss the playoffs after that.

The classic matchup of futility:

Norv Turner's coaching vs the Oakland Raiders

Whose attempts to lose the game will fail?

it's weird how much i hate norv turner. i really don't care about the chargers, yet i hate norv turner more than anyone else in football right now.

I was trying to remember if you were a Charger fan. Obviously I knew you were an Eagle fan, but couldn't remember if you cheered for SD too.

I don't hate Norv Turner (as long as he stays far, far away from the Titans and Vols - except as an offensive coordinator), but I find it hilariously awesome that he replaced any coach at all - much less one as great as Marty Schottenheimer.

LT won't let Norv's stupidity make the Chargers lose. San Diego hasn't lost to the Raiders since Sept 28, 2003 and has won 10 straight matchups.

i think schottenheimer is the reason i hate norv turner - i have always been a defender of marty, especially when people were saying that anyone would be better than him after they lost to the patriots (when some moron fumbled on an INT return - marty's fault apparently).

I guess the Raider incompetence is a bit more widespread than just the head coach/general manager.

Yea, I've always liked Marty and never understood the general hatred for him. He's a terrific coach who's hit some bad luck in the playoffs.

It's a little like saying Dan Marino isn't a great QB because he never won a Super Bowl. You're completely disregarding that he put up some of the greatest stats of all-time. Similarly, Marty has won a ton of games in the NFL in his career, and yet he was fired for Norv freaking Turner because he lost a playoff game.

If we can't beat the freaking Texans at home in December, we better lose out.

That said, please win and hopefully the Lions get their first win of the year this weekend.

Yeah, if the Lions win, all of a sudden the NFC North swings from "Vikings in the drivers' seat" to complete chaos.

Even if the Lions don't win, Minnesota has three straight games against playoff teams to end the year. Without their two big run-stuffers, I'd be shocked if they win more than one of those games.

On Bill Simmons's podcast this week, Mike Lombardi of the NFL Network said that the teams with a chance to win the Super Bowl are Tennessee, the Giants, maybe the Cowboys, Pittsburgh, and...Tampa Bay.

The more I think about this game, the more I'm convinced we're going to get reamed and have to, at best, go play at Minnesota - where we already lost this year - or Arizona - who should've beaten us in Carolina - in the first round

Without them yes. Depending on the results of the hearing tomorrow, they may still play.

You should be after what happened last time. I hope the Bucs can do it again.

Hopefully this'll be another easy win (though almost certainly not as easy as the win over the Lions) for the Titans.

Cleveland will be without Brady Quinn and Derek Anderson and I think that means Ken Dorsey will be the starter. That should make the entire Titan defensive unit excited.

Even with them, playing against Arizona, ATL, and the Giants will be tough. Arizona doesn't run the ball much anyway, so they shouldn't have a bearing on that game. Atlanta does, but Matt Ryan and White and Douglas have proven that they can throw the ball on you when you stack the box. And Eli Manning has been great for the Giants.

That's a very tough slate. I think all three of those teams should be able to beat a team that really isn't that much better (if at all, really) than the Bears and Packers.

A federal judge has blocked the NFL from suspending five players for violating the league's anti-doping policy.

U.S. District Judge Paul Magnuson said Friday he needed more time to consider the case after hearing several hours of arguments from the league and the NFL Players Association.

They talked about that a few days ago....Isn't he supposed to make the actual decision tonight? And who cares if they have them on Sunday they would have won anyways. Lets just hope something happens for there last 3 games.
