just making a quick look at the schedule ou has played against the number 4, 5, 6, 8, 18, 20, and 26 scoring offenses while the best offense florida has played was the number 26 florida state team. so you can say all you want about florida's defense compared to oklahoma's, but OU has played against MUCH better offenses and no, that is not debatable

Mizzou is the 2nd or 3rd best offense in the SEC.

And Tennessee's offense might just look competent against their defense.

(That was mainly a joke, though there's a shred of seriousness in it)

The more points that OU scores, the more likely we get an UT vs OU rematch in the title game (and that means an alabama ohio state fiesta bowl).

Seeing Ohio State get blown out in another BCS Bowl would make me a saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad panda.

Seriously, has anyone learned their lesson with them yet?

Bama has played one team as good or better than OSU and they lost to them. Bama should be favored, but it's far from a foregone conclusion that they'd win.

Oh, and OSU is 4-2 all time in BCS games.

i don't know if you were directing that at me, but i never tried to debate that OU hasn't played against better offenses. of course they have. the big xii has more high scoring offenses b/c they have more crappy defenses. do you think that Florida really couldn't shut down this Mizzou offense too?

Along the same lines. Ohio State has played two teams as good or better than Alabama and they to both of them. I think Alabama and Ohio State matchup well against each other. That would be a fun game to watch. I don't think Alabama would run away with it like Florida and Louisiana State were able to.

Sanchez will be drafted higher than Tebow.

Probably, but I don't think Tebow will stick at QB in the NFL either. He will have the same problems Vince Young had, and probably more.

any team with a good pass rush and average cover corners could stop missouri. ole miss would beat them solidly. alabama would beat them solidly. florida would beat them solidly. kentucky might even be able to knock them off. Edited by Mephistopheles

USC vs. Oklahoma would be a great game, you know, had the overrated trojans not lost to oregon state

I thought this was the worst USC team since 2001. They are still really good though.

agreed, there worst offense in many years. Sanchez is just not a great QB. He has great tools, just hasn't put them all together.

Sanchez is better than Booty. This team is better than the USC teams of the last two years. It's not even close.

No doubt. This USC version is easily the best since the Leinart-Bush halcyon days.

Florida's defense looks better than it is because it plays bad offenses

Except without the whole bi-polar thing.

Despite the loss to Georgia Tech (gimmick offense, etc), I think Georgia is comparable to Ohio State. LSU might be semi-close too, but that's more debatable.

Bama blew one out and won another in OT.

that is probably true too.

thank you, that's what i was trying to say. Florida looks better because they play offensively incompetent teams while OU looks mediocre because they play offensive powerhouses

Throughout the history of NCAA football, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a dominant offense (e.g. Oklahoma/Florida) or a dominant defense (e.g. USC) that has played a lot of highly ranked respective defenses or offenses. It's a total chicken or egg argument.

It's a product of trying to compare statistics of a sport where 120 teams only play 10% of the total opponents. Things get skewed.

And 3-0 in the Fiesta Bowl.

ironically enough when florida played an offense that was the level of the longhorns, red raiders and mizzous they held them to three points, won by thirty-nine, and forced a future top ten NFL pick quarterback to throw 3 interceptions.

oh and held a future first round running back to 65 yards on 17 carries.

I have to disagree with you 2. OSU's offense this year has been so much predicated by the big play. Their offense does not sustain drives or methodically move the ball down the field via the pass or even Chris Wells. They rely so much on the home run threat its not even funny(i.e. they beat Michigan because of 5 plays). Alabama is too good to give up the big plays time and time again. Pryors big run plays comes when the pocket breaks down and the dline loses contain, i just dont see bama getting beat by Pryors feet in thatfashion, Pryor doesnt run between the tackles like Tebow does. Bama may not blow them out but i would feel very confidently they would win.
