Richard Hidalgo-OF-Astros Nov. 19 - 12:17 pm et

Free agent Richard Hidalgo had a grand slam and a double Tuesday for Magallanes of the VWL.

Hidalgo hasn't played in the U.S. since the Astros released him in spring 2007, but he's still going strong in Venezuela and is a candidate to surface next year. He's currently hitting .366/.427/.545 with three homers in 112 at-bats.

Hes only 33, and he had some very good years before he started getting injured. Hes putting up some nice numbers in the VWL, and I wonder if hed be willing to take a minor league deal with an invite. I know he "hits from the wrong side of the plate", but he could be worth it if he comes that cheap.
