only the tigers. only the motherfreaking horseshoe up their ass for the past decade tigers.

that horseshoe failed miserably a couple of times this year.

i don't know whose team i want to win the sec less, meph's team or redflash's team. i guess i'd prefer meph's team win it since chances are, one of the 12 good teams he roots for is going to make the championship game.

Nittany Thugs lose! Yes! At least we won't have to see the Big Ten get destroyed in another national championship game.

I hate you

is smack an ohio st fan? that would explain a lot.

No, I actually went to Purdue. I just enjoy watching teams who recruit at all costs lose.

I'm pretty sure everyone's seen this.

Does anyone actually think Alabama is one of the 5 best teams in the country, let alone the best?

no, but at least no one thinks penn state is a top 5 team anymore.

It would be USC 49 - 14 over Alabama.

At least the nation won't be subjected to another Big Ten debacle in the National Championship Game.

Hopefully it won't be Penn State vs USC in the Rose Bowl. That may be a bigger blow out than last year.

BTW, anyone still think Les Miles is an elite coach?

Crowton is a moron as well.

Yes. He's not Saban or Meyer, but he's one of the top coaches in the country. My god he's 45-7 or something at LSU. He's had a rough bump this season. Really the big screw up for them this season is lack of a good QB. The Perriloux situation really hurt them. C'mon they took a top five team to OT. theyre fine. they played well. they got outclassed by the best team in the country though, but right now florida would beat anyone like that.

I'm pretty sure that no one on this board thought Miles was an elite coach. He truly makes some boneheaded decisions in close games.

I have a feeling that if LSU was in any other conference besides the SEC, you'd be saying something entirely different.

I never thought he was an elite coach, but what in this game makes you say this?

Or is it just LSU's season as a whole?

This is the sort of "his track record is good!" thinking that led people to believe that Dusty Baker was a good manager.

I've watched a lot of LSU football and to even put this fraud in the class of Saban, Carroll, Meyer, etc. is just way off base. The guy makes boneheaded decisions like they're going out of style. He's gotten really lucky on some of them but we'll start to see some mean reversion on that (we already have).

As bad as Michigan is, they should thank their lucky stars this loser didn't accept the job.

but define elite. is he top five? probably not. is he one of the top dozen or so? probably.

pete carroll

jim tressell

nick saban

butch davis

mack brown

bob stoops

tommy tuberville

i cant really think of a tenth guy id take over him easily.

i really didnt see him doing anything in this game that was stupid. he's been risky in the past by going for most fourth downs. but really some of those decisions were good ones. really, in game decisions are only a small part of how to grade a coach

Saban turned LSU into a machine. The best I can say for Les Miles is that he didn't screw up the recruiting after Saban left. I'm not crazy about retaining Crowton as OC either--he was awful as the Bears OC and pretty bad at BYU and Oregon as well.

He's like Larry Coker accept Coker seemed like a decent man and not an insufferable douche like Miles is.

I'd put Butch Davis in the first group - it's easy to forget how good that Miami team was he built. Had he not gone to the NFL, he might have another couple of National Titles.

Otherwise, I agree with you.
