I'll probably go to the Louisiana Tech/Fresno game. Tech has disappointed after starting out with a win over Miss St.

Probably cause every team they've played since is better than Miss St.

Close, but not all.

This is a must win for UK, they should beat MSU to get to 6 wins and bowl eligible. They win this one and they have a chance with UT and Vandy left to poss. get to 8 wins with both Tenn. schools struggling as of late.

I would've never thought they would have a chance at 8 wins this far into the season.

Lubbock past dump around 15 years ago. If dust and wind could create crap that would be Lubbock, but it will be well worth the 5 hour drive with a win.

worse yet, lubbock is in a DRY COUNTY.

jesus christ, what century is this?

There's a street on the south side of Chicago where one half of the street is dry and the other half has pretty much nothing but bars and liquor stores.

How about Iowa at Illinois?

I got a whole bunch of stuff from Texas Tech when I was a junior and senior and was seriously considering going there for a couple of months. I probably would have died.

Amongst the SIDs I work with, Lubbock is largely considered one of, if not THE worst Big 12 city. Manhattan and Ames are up there as well.

How is Ames not the worst?

Because of Lubbock, Manhattan, and Stillwater.

Actually I'd say there are only 3 good Big XII towns that I've been to: Norman, Austin, and Lawrence. I've never been to Boulder or Colombia, though. I'd put Lincoln, College Station, and Waco as decent towns, not great, but decent. Lubbock, Manhattan, Ames, and Stillwater are all not very fun.

stillwater can be fun, you just have to wear OU stuff and know someone that lives there

if lubbock and ames are worse than waco, well, that can't be good

This is great news for my trip to Ames in a couple weeks.

It's not THAT bad, it just has no redeemable qualities. There's nothing to it.

Yeah the Big 12 really has some bad college towns.

I hear Boulder is a great town. Columbia's got enough to do where I think visitors would be able to have a fun weekend out of it.

I've been to Austin (though not for a football game) and it's a great town. I didn't get to spend much time in Lawrence but I hear good things, especially about their downtown area, although I hated walking my fat ass up their hill campus to get to the stadium.

I've only been to Lawrence, Manhattan, and Columbia. Manhattan is by far the worst of those three. I wasn't a huge fan of Columbia, but I didn't explore it at all. Lawrence is a great college town. Austin is supposed to be the greatest place in the world, according to everyone who's been there. And I hear Boulder is cool.

There was an article I read online a few years back that said Lubbock is the worst. The writer described it as "100 miles from Cool," which is geographically accurate, as it's 100 miles from Cool, TX, and, according to him, metaphorically accurate as well. But I also work with a bunch of people from Austin, and they say Waco is worse because of a heavy fundamentalist presence.

I'm obviously biased, but I think Columbia's downtown area is great. There's a very wide-range of restaurants, shops, and bars to satisfy pretty much anyone. Not that you'll ever be in Columbia again, but if you are, I'd spend some time downtown.
