This year is fun. It seems like both leagues are completely wide open right now. I couldn't even project the Super Bowl matchup or the playoff teams in each conference.

Theres a crapload of tiebreakers involved and I might have miscalculated somewhere down the line, but my best guess as to playoff matchups if the season ended today...just for fun.

This assumes that Denver beats NE since Denver is the favorite

BYE: NY Giants, Tampa Bay

Carolina @ Arizona

Washington @ Chicago

BYE: Tennessee, Pittsburgh

Baltimore @ Buffalo

Jacksonville @ Denver

With my living room out of commission for the first two months of the season I've been watching games at bars with fans of all sorts of teams. If there's one thing Americans can agree on, it's the enjoyment of seeing the oft-fellated Cowboys completely crap the bed.

Wow, strange as heck to see an AFC playoff model at any point in the season without the Colts, Pats and Chargers in it.

If John McCain said this in a stump speech, he might be able to get enough votes to win.

I wonder if God hates the Saints because our name is somehow a form of blasphemy. Shockey reinjured, Bush out for a month, etc.

He probably just hates them b/c they suck.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people in Louisiana hate the Saints. The Saints really are a Mississippi team for all intents and purposes.

There are still alot of people up here that like them. Most people either like them or the Cowboys. I can't stand either.

Can we start the playoffs today, then? Carolina can beat a Boldin-less Cardinals then take a crack at the champions. That's as much as I could've asked in August.

Yeah, it has been wide open. When Brady went down all bets were off.

Dallas Clark seems like a really nice guy. Here's his message to Peter King:

"Peter, this is Dallas Clark of the Colts. I just wanted to call and let you know that I did get the message to call you after the game, and I left the locker room, and got with my family and friends, and went out to eat, and I totally forgot to call you. I apologize. I totally forgot and I'm really sorry. I just wanted to let you know I should have called you. It wasn't anybody's fault but mine, and I'm sorry. I hope you're having a good day, and if you need me, reach out to me again. I will talk to you soon. Bye bye.''

I like how he says "Dallas Clark, of the Colts" to Peter King. I'd say he knows who Clark is.

That said, it does seem like he's a nice guy. It'll make it slightly tougher when we beat ya'll Monday night.

I love rotoworld:

LenDale White-RB- Titans Oct. 20 - 9:48 am et

Coach Jeff Fisher was impressed with LenDale White's quickness on Sunday.

White racked up 149 yards and three touchdowns, including an 80-yard sprint that surprised all onlookers, including his head coach. "He must have had a salad for dinner (Saturday) night," said Fisher. Either that, or a Titans official secretly planted a garden of Big Macs in the Chiefs' end zone.

Mike Nolan. Fired.

About time.

Who's next? Or rather, who's left? Maybe we should start a NFL coaches pool.

I'd say maybe Herm Edwards? Although I have to think Rod Marinelli will be first.

Marinelli will definitely go before Edwards, I have to think. The Chiefs are in full-on rebuilding mode and understood before the year they'd be terrible. I think Herm has through next year to show some significant progress or he's gone.

I'm actually a little surprised Nolan got the boot now. I figured he'd go, but thought it'd be after the season. Don't sleep on Tom Cable in the firing pool. He's still fairly new, but Al Davis doesn't have much patience.

Mike Singletary is now an NFL head coach.

Surprised no one has mentioned on here the reported doucheness that came out today about Favre supposedly talking to Lions management for 90 minutes about the Packers offense.

Okay Denver. I'm down 1 point in my fantasy league to an awful team who struck gold with Lendale this week. I have your kicker. Get me one damn field goal.

OUCH

There was a long discussion about it earlier. Maybe in this thread, I'm not sure, but I know there was one.

=D> It's about dadgum time.

I've thought he should be hired for the past two seasons. Very, very deserving - hope he impresses and gets a job with somebody decent next year.
