Miami beats the Knicks to clinch the 5 seed.

Philly loses by 7 to Toronto to fall to .500, with 2 remaining games against the Celtics and Cavs.

I like our chances for the 6 seed, even if we lose to Detroit tomorrow. Detroit ends @ Miami on Wednesday while we end at home against Toronto. Philadelphia's really struggled to end the season and I don't see how they could possibly beat Boston and Cleveland. After the Magic lost at home to the Knicks on Friday and at New Jersey yesterday without Devin Harris, I'd really like to get a crack at them in the first round.

Yeah well I can see them losing to Boston because Garnett right be back and they haven't played great lately (got blown out by 30 today) so they might feel like they have something to prove. I don't know if Cleveland will be up for their game...they probably won't want anyone to get hurt. Unless of course they are playing in Cleveland (I can't remember). If that's the case, Cleveland will definitely be trying to tie the NBA record for best home record in NBA history (40-1)

If Philly wins 1 of their last 2 games do we have to win both of our games for the 6 seed?

Yup, we lose the tie breaker to Philly.

Tomorrow's game against Detroit is the biggest regular season game for the Bulls since the season ending game in NJ two years ago that dropped us from the 2 seed to the 5 seed.

Thanks for reminding me of that. Very depressing day that was.

I definately want no part of the Magic front court.

They're getting beat by double digits in the first half against the Bucks tonight. They're slumping right now.

Of course all of this is going to be meaningless if Philadelphia wins one of their final two games or Detroit beats Miami because we're probably going to end up losing this one.

detroit sucks

All of their teams, dammit!

Chicago's putting quite a beating on those bastards the last few days.

Best win of the year, no question about it. This is a game where earlier in the year, we would've folded under pressure. But we came back from an 11 point deficit twice and our big playmakers made huge plays in the final minute. This is pretty fun to watch.

That. Was. Awesome.

Bulls clinch at least the 7 seed and pull ahead of the Sixers for the 6th seed. Just need to win vs. Toronto at home and hope Philly loses to either Boston or Cleveland, and then we are playing the potentially Turk-less Magic who are sliding into the end of the season.

Still don't think we'll beat them in a series as Dwight Howard will murder us, bring us back to life, and then murder us again.

Chicago sports is on quite a roll right now.

The Bulls have won 5 in a row, and are rolling towards the playoffs as the 6th seed.

The Hawks finished the year 6-0-1 in their last 7 games and are about to start a playoff series with home ice advantage.

The Cubs started out the season 5-2 and are on a 3 game winning streak.

Heck, even the White Sox have won 3 in a row and started the season 4-3.

And then there's the Bears picking up Jay Cutler which is still the biggest Chicago sports story on the airwaves.

Probably not, but the chances of pulling off an upset keep looking better every day.

Despite the road win tonight, I think the Bulls will lose their series in 6. They will lose the first 2, win the 2 home games, lose game 5 on the road, and then lose game 6 at home.

Noah would give him a battle and at least make him work--he's been great lately. If Miller has to play him for any extended amount of time it'll be murder, though.

And while we're on the topic of Noah, I have to say that he has been exhibiting a lot more offensive potential than I ever thought he had. He can't shoot at all (although with that FT form you'd expect him to be Ben Wallace/Shaq awful when he's nearly hits at a 70% clip) but he has fantastic hands, can handle the ball well, makes great passes, and is learning to set effective picks. I'm excited about him.

This is about the ceiling of expectations I had for Noah when he was drafted. He is one of those players whose contributions don't always show up on the scoresheet. He will be a key role player throughout his career. On a great team he's probably coming off the bench unless he gets more size, but he works fine as starting center for a team like Chicago.

When was the last time that Chicago sports teams were this good?
