Well between the putrid defense, Vinny's explicable substitutions, the refs, and Rose's late game boners that was the 2nd most frustrating loss of the year after the Miami game.

So good of Vinny to reward Noah's play with a 40 minute stretch on the bench and sticking Salmons, who has been the most effective player on the team recently, with a spot on the bench so he could jerk around with his 3 guard idiocy.

Really, what use is Hinrich for if all he's going to do is be a liability on the defensive end? At least Salmons gives you length and can put the ball in the hoop. That 3 that Hinrich drilled with around two minutes left in regulation was the biggest shot he's hit in his NBA career besides the game against the Heat in the playoffs. How Salmons didn't see the floor the last 8 minutes or so of the game really made absolutely no sense.

This one is all pinned on coaching IMO. The plays that were drawn up at the end of regulation (the sequence before BG hit the shot to send it into OT) and the end of OT were horrific.

I'd love if Rose could add a 3-point game to his repertoire

He's going to be so much better next year but I'm not sure if he'll ever be anything more than a serviceable 3 point shooter. He does need to punish defenses for sagging off of him when he's playing above the top of the key, though. When Tony Parker learned to knock down that shot he became one of the most efficient scorers in the game and when you combine that with Rose's superior athleticism you'll have a devastating player.

Between being reffed more fairly, improved shooting, and at least becoming an average defender Rose will become a monster.

He needs to step up in clutch situations too.

Agree. Kind of along the same lines, but "killer instict" would be nice too. Or you could say being more aggressive.

I don't think he NEEDS a 3 point shot. I mean look what DWade does. If defenses sag off him he's just gotta be able to hit a pullup midrange jumper, which he's already improved upon so much from the beginning of the season.

What's Salmons status? He hasn't played at all tonight and I'm guessing that's why he didn't play at the end of the Toronto game.

Salmons is out for the game.

pay that man!

You can't be serious.

what? every time gordon has a game where he goes off we hear about how awesome he is and that we need to pay him. so after one of his patented "i'm ice cold tonight but i'm going to keep heaving up shots like crazy anyways" nights i can't call him out?

or it could be because of his overall stats.

which aren't great. he's a good shooter, that's it. he averages like 20, 3, and 3. that's a guy you want to give a huge contract to? that's a waste of money on a non-star player. we need to save that money and go after one of the 2010 guys to pair with rose. THAt is how we'll win a championship. not by giving big contracts to alright players like gordon.

The Bulls will be significantly worse off if and when they lose him. They'll have to luck into it in order to wind up with a better 2 in the near future.

You're not getting Wade or LeBron, and you're probably not even getting Amare. You might get Bosh. You'd still be able to get him whether you re-sign Gordon or not.

And Gordon isn't going to get some absurdly huge contract in this economy.

if ben gordon is your number 2, you're never winning anything. it's as simple as that.

i love definitive statements like this that actually mean absolutely nothing.

people could've said the same about rip hamilton or ray allen at one point.

2 guard

and they're really very similar players. allen was significantly better in his prime, but not when he won a championship. still better, but not by a huge margin.
