Bears need this game. 4-2 would be a nice cushion if they are going to fight for a playoff spot. Even if they come up short of the division, a wild card slot might open up with the NFC East teams knocking each other around. My only concern with this game is whatever mentality they have going into it. There was clearly a letdown after week 1. They got a little lucky against Philly, and thankfully did not let up against Detroit. They should beat Atlanta, even if the Falcons are fairly decent.

You thought there was a letdown after week 1? I respectfully disagree. I thought the Bears played really well and looked focused in that game.

I thought the defense was sloppy, maybe lackadaisical. They came out fired up, but way too confident in their ability to just turn it up whenever it mattered. They had a chance to put Carolina away, and just didn't come up with the plays.

Defense a little sloppy, if I remember the game correctly, the offense moved the ball decently in the first half. I agree with you about the fact that the D thinks they can just turn it up whenever. Bend but don't break if you will. Sometimes you have to give a little credit to the other team too, and Carolina was good in the second half. Can't get over those Olsen fumbles though. He holds onto the ball we are 4-1. If the Bears don't go into prevent defense the next week, we are 5-0 and the toast of football.

Should be a fun game. Although I'll probably be dead tired because I've got an all-nighter for work Saturday/Sunday :(

I am officially afraid of this game. Bears are 2-1 on the road, but Atlanta's at least a decent team at home. It would be one thing if it was a natural surface, but this game is indoors which you never know what can happen in unfamiliar territory. Hopefully, Forte will be able to find some more holes this week. Gonna need a strong running game. ATL has the potential to run the ball, thus put the Bears D on the field for a long time.

I'm muuuuuuch more concerned about this game than I was a couple weeks ago.

Ok last call for sending in your power rankings to me. Its not that hard, just rank them 1-10 and PM them to me.

If your on nsbb.com during this time, you obviously have nothing else to do, so please do it :) Thanks.

I will send you a stripper for helping out.

Not that it matters, but I swear that everytime I watch Bermans' "Two Minute Drill" he always picking against the Bears. I maybe wrong---I've been told once or twice---but I never seen Berman ever side with the Bears, even when they are winning. I know it doesn't matter, and the way I look at it is this, if you can work in Indy and beat the Colts at there place, there is no away game you shouldn't win.

Right now, seeing as bad they were last yr, the Falcons are definately playing on the House's Money this yr. I like Ryan/Turner combination, but I didn't think ATL would be anything more then a 6-7 win team this yr even in the South Divison. I know alot of Falcons fans like this matchup on paper, but I believe by the end of the game on Sunday, they will realize there not as good as their record says they are.

I say the Bears put up 28-35 points against the Falcons and win the game comfortably.

i still see the Bears as a house of cards, similar to the Titans; they've got a fluff schedule, but are going to have some absolutely brutal games offensively against teams with competent defensive game plans

i'm not sure they'll outlast the Packers for the division title, but if they get into the playoffs and face one of the NFC East teams it'll be a bloodbath

Bears declared WR Brandon Lloyd, QB Caleb Hanie, CB Nathan Vasher, LB Nick Roach, G Dan Buenning, T Chris Williams, DT Matt Toeaina and NT Anthony Adams inactive for Week 6 against the Falcons.

Lloyd is sidelined with a torn PCL, so Marty Booker will likely start alongside Devin Hester. Corey Graham will sub for Vasher. Tommie Harris is active after sitting out two games.

Anyone know why Anthony Adams is inactive? Maybe because Harris is playing?

I still heavily like the Bears in this game. The key will be stopping Turner, but I don't doubt the Bears can do it.

Also, Roddy White IS playing.

I was wondering why I was feeling so excited for this game and then I remembered the ClaritinD I took. I wish something worked as well as pseudoephedrine without the meth effect.

In NBA news, a 6'3" player making $11,000,000 this season severely injured his ankle while riding a moped.

Brown and the Bears keep their coin toss streak alive.

have they ever explained why they keep kicking off? Trying to start the game with a strong defensive stand?

By the way, Tommie Harris will start out primarily in passing downs only today. Which is the right decision.

Field position and a perception of second half momentum. I hate receiving first, though there probably isn't much of a tactical advantage. Particularly in a dome.

Payne wasn't really sure what to do on that bootleg. That's usually not a good thing.

Nice play, Graham! And in the early going, they're still not attacking Graham.
