So the *REAL* reason that Harden didn't pitch for that stretch a month ago for like two weeks was that he had a cortisone shot, not because they were just giving him time off.

It's like 2004 all over again.

And 2003.

And 2005.

And you know this, how?

The Sun-Times reported it today.

Oh ok I havent seen the story. Just thought if there was a story behind it then it would have been posted in the original post. Kinda sounded like he was trying to give some inside info.

Wow, the aftermath is starting before the final nail is even put in the coffin.

Well, here we go. You'll start hearing all sorts of these after-the-fact "we didn't tell you back then, but now we should probably let it out" kinds of stories that usually follow major collapses.

Probably because they know most Cubs fans are idiots, would hear the word cortisone shot and assume he needs TJS. Who cares? This is a non-story.

Yea Ill give Wittenmeyer credit for his article. He actually stated in there alot of pitchers get cortisone shots, and it is often considered maintenance on the arm. Agreed though, its a non story. If Harden was hurt, there is no way in hell Lou would pitch him down 2-0. He'd let Lilly start game 3, and if we'd win he'd figure something out for game 4.

Him getting a cortisone shot is not a big deal.

The way he was rubbing his shoulder and that before he went on the DL it was obvious that his shoulder was in bad shape, I don't think he was close to 100% in his last outing.

honestly who cares? The cubs do not have to tell us he got a cortisone shot, they have no duty to us in that regard.

Like the fact that Fukudome must be pretty good in the sack.

No they can't. And the article mentioned that he didn't want to comment on it, so I don't think it's much of a stretch to think he didn't give permission.

So you guys are saying that Felix allowed the Cubs to release the info on his twisted testicle? What a champ.
