Who says bunting would have gotten the run home? Obviously things can change but with the way the inning went (Lee K, ARam flyout), the Cubs wouldn't have scored.

 

Theriot had the second highest batting average of any non-pitcher on the Cubs this year (Hoffpauir was the only one higher) and he went 2-for-4 yesterday. Why take the bat out of his hands?
