I'm thinking right now, would I rather have a series go down like this and get swept or lose in 4 games or would I rather the Cubs had won the first two and then lost three in a row like they did in '84 (and similarly in '03)? As a Cub fan, these are the types of options you are forced to consider.

at least the cubs showed up to play if they won at least 1 game. this is just embarrassing, and it leaves us cubs fans defenseless when people talk about what a joke our team is.

I don't expect Zambrano to have a sub 4 ERA again in his career either. His career is following the Livan Hernandez path, too many pitches at a young age with a rapidly falling K rate that catches up to him at a relatively young age even though his BB rate improves. Maybe the strong Cub defense proves me wrong but as a big time fantasy baseball player I cannot imagine drafting him next year at anywhere near his going rate.

PS. I still expect this game to go 5 games even though I still predict the Dodgers win it.

What are you doing here?

Hey Cali, I IMPLORE you to bring the following sign to Chavez on Saturday, to be displayed only if the Cubs are losing:

"We may be done but at least we aren't from St. Louis!"

Seriously think about it. You will be an internet legend.

At least they won a championship lately

I'd rather be championshipless and not be a slackjawed mulleted freak.

Not me

I'll start growing the mullet now if it helps.

Don't you have somewhere you can go where people actually want to hear what you have to say? First of all trolling in a Cubs thread as a Brewers fan and secondly enlightening us with your compelling fantasy baseball draft strategy. Tell me more, tell me more!

I know it's unavoidable based off the performance we've seen tonight, but if the Wrigley season ends with the team being booed off the field, after the last six months...that would really suck.

The players absolutely deserve it.

trade soriano and lee for tim Lincecum. Trade Felix Pie, Jason Marquis other else for Nate Mclouth. Sign Manny Ramirez and Mark Teixeira and just hope and pray I guess.

oh man i bet the giants and pirates would jump all over that.

Well there gos my Sean Marshall and Ronny Cedeno for Evan Longoria and Kevin Hart and Micah Hoffpauir for Jake Peavy proposals.

2nd ones good. first is stoopid. we already have a 3b.

Longorias young. He can learn RF. Maybe we can throw in Carmen Pignietello to sweeten the deal.

Yeah, isn't your ace due to pitch another 14 innings before he signs somewhere else?

Not just Tom Verdouche (I know it's not spelled like that), but SPORTS ILLUSTRATED'S Tom Verdouche. Not a coincidence that the same company owns both Turner and SI.

I know it's not this poor guy's fault, but I need someone to **** with right now.

Did Modzilla give you the OK?

I honestly think the players don't buy into the whole curse and choking as a whole. The problem is every offseason they get the fans and the media brining up 100 years worth of shortcomings and it just wears on them. The fans just go comatose waiting for the worst to happen and even in home games suck the life out of the team.

Actually, I'm drunk and just looking for a reason for optimism.

Don't you remember the press conference after we signed him? Hendry was clearly crossing his fingers, remember that big thread about it?

There is a "curse". It is called 100X more pressure than any other team in the postseason.
