That makes me feel really sad. For all the crap we give Z, he pitched his damn heart out tonight.

That's the ironic thing. All the talk from last night til today was what Z would we get.... we got a good one. What we didn't count on was the rest of the team self-destructing and zippo offense.

I have absolutely nothing positive to bring to the table except at this time of my deepest misery so far and it now being 4 32am i'd rather be on here with my own people than listen to Stockton and the rest of his twits dissect this miserable peformance.

My friend who lived in Chicago and moved to England 2 months ago and claims to be a huge Cubs fan, is sleeping so you should too.

they should have let that goat in that i read about in the suntimes. would have broke the curse and the cubs would win

Top ten most idiotic posts I've read. And that's saying something with the usual cast of bumbling idiots in this thread.

This X10 forget curses and all that utter crap, we have been utterly pathetic in 2 postseasons running and some have boardered on being pathetic at many times this year.........glances at Mr Lee and Soriano.

The 4 game sweep at Milwaukee- meaningless

The Aramis grand slam against Philly- meanngless

The comeback against Colorado- meaningless

The sweep on the White Sox at Wrigley- meaningless

Wood staying healhy all season- meaningless

Dempster's career year- meaningless

Catching lightning ina bottle with Edmonds- meaningless

All that stuff, which seemed so significant, means nothing. Just like that, it's all meaningless. Never happened.

Wood stayed healthy all year??? What about that month-long stint on the DL?

For Wood, that is staying healthy all year.

Hey Cali, I IMPLORE you to bring the following sign to Chavez on Saturday, to be displayed only if the Cubs are losing:

"We may be done but at least we aren't from St. Louis!"

Seriously think about it. You will be an internet legend.

:rotfl:

They don't let you bring signs into the ballpark. Might distract the fans. But beachballs, those are awesome

Feel bad for Carlos :( The hell happened to this offense..

The LF is in one of his frequent periods in which he's one of the worst players in baseball.

The RF hits like a mediocre AAA backup catcher.

The 1B hits like a decent shortstop.

The catcher is hurt and worn down.

We really shouldn't be surprised that the offense has failed.

Not to me it's not. It was a great summer while it lasted. And technically, it's not over yet.
