In determining whether or not a QB crossed the line of scrimmage for an illegal forward pass, is it where his feet are or where the ball is? McCoy just got a TD pass out of a desperation flip around the LOS.

 

EDIT: After the break they say as long as the full body isn't across, then it's a legal pass.

I was very impressed with Illinois today. The defense did a great job from the 2nd quarter on as they finally got pressure on a quarterback. They forced a few turnovers today, which was huge. And Juice was exceptional today. Can't really complain about too much on that end.

 

SIU pulled an Iowa State as they led North Dakota State 20-0, but the offense fell asleep once again in the 2nd half and the defense was on the field for the majority of the half as NDSU came back to win 35-27. I expected to lose, but blowing a 20 point lead is pretty unacceptable. Oh well, at least we beat Northern Iowa last week and we got the hard part of our schedule out of the way.

 

Hopefully NIU can put up a respectable effort against the Vols.

So between Stanford's players trying to start brawls with us, tackles mouthing off to the paper about how bad our defense is for only having 1 sack through 4 games (how does four taste, Chris Marinelli?) and about how he hates playing at ND, Jim Harbaugh losing his mind on penalty calls against Stanford, and the Cardinal band being such jackasses that they somehow got banned from the campus, I have no idea why this series continues. Stanford is completely irrelevant and there's no point playing them anymore.

 

But thanks for letting Jimmy have a career day when we couldn't even run the ball. 4-1.

 

Ball State - no games under 35 points this year - leads Toledo at the half, but by a 3-0 score.

Nicholson's out for the rest of the game for NIU, so the Huskies are going to try to beat the Vols with a quarterback that can't throw the ball at all. Start of the 2nd half, still tied at 3.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh, that flashback to 2003's OSU/UW game brings back fond memories. It was the same day and time as Game 4 of the NLCS, so I snuck a radio into the game to listen while I watched. A streaker came out immediately following the Lee Evans TD to a huge crowd response. We also mobbed the field after the game and tried to bring down the goalposts, but couldn't get them down before the cops kicked everyone out.

 

Good times, good times.

Ball State has shaped right back up with a 21-point second half while allowing no points still. BSU 24, Toledo 0 with about eight minutes to go. Cardinals will go 6-0 for the first time since 1965 and will almost certainly break into the polls for the first time ever. :D
