Mets lose and are eliminated from HFA. They're a game back of the Phillies now with Philadelphia still to play.

 

EDIT: Philly is up 2-0 in the third over the Marlins.

Anyone who has MLB.tv needs to check out this Braves reliever Mike Gonzalez. When he's on the mound looking for the sign he's swaying back and forth and has this goofy look on his face. It's hilarious.

 

He did that for one batter against the Cubs. The Cubs batter promptly reached base and he couldn't do that anymore, otherwise it's a balk.

honestly who would believe me If I told you in January that Ryan Dempster would have 17 wins on September 21?

My immediate response would be "we obviously traded him to the Cardinals".

One additional thing to note: If they don't care about replaying that last Houston game in regards to HFA, the Cubs have already clinched HFA as they can finish at worst 94-67, and the Mets and Phils can finish at best 94-68.

 

You're absolutely right. There is no way the MLB would make them replay it for HFA

Schedule says WGN has the final two games of the season, next Saturday and Sunday.

That was a 4-1 finish when much of the board had us not winning another game the rest of the year. Yeah, those were the loonies, but I demand kudos.
