Who or what is Chiball?

This dont seem legit to me, saying Cuban was never in it. Also didnt Crayne Kenney (possible mispelling) just say that if Cuban is the highest bidder he dont see any reason why he wont be the owner.

I hadn't heard for Chi-ball before this week, but they've been the leaders on the Mariotti-to-the-Tribune story, so they seem to have some kind of connections.

>> Multiple sources tell Chi-ball ...

>> [Ricketts] is not only sufficient, but sources believe ...

>> It is a believed by these sources that Zell has used Cuban all along...

>> The source went on to say that

LOL @ unqualified "sources". Sources could mean talking w/some buddies over some brewskies.

The most interesting thing about that article is the Ricketts bio. I didn't realize he was so young (42).

The rest is just blind speculation.

Well let's go there then, for the sake of argument.

Would Ricketts be bad, good? I really don't have much knowledge of the guy. But it's not like Cuban is the *only* possible good owner for the Cubs.

Still not sure if its true, but everything that is said in that article seems plausible. Shady world of business. I'm just surprised that Cuban was made to look the fool. He seems smart enough to catch onto something like that earlier in the process.

Everyone wants Cuban, he is the Cubs fan dream owner. It's just Reinsdorf has so much influence over these owners. I've been hoping for Cuban even though in the back of some of our minds we knew he wouldn't get approved.

I like the angle that this site puts on it:

http://www.cubanandthecubs.com/

This makes no sense. Did Zell call Cuban and say, “Hey Mark, I’m selling the Cubs, can you do me a favor and make a huge bid to raise the value of the team,” highly unlikely. As well, it cost a lot of time and money to pursue the purchase of a business, hence, if Cuban was used as bait, then he has a viable case against Zell and the MLB.

Cuban is a business man and would not invest time and money to hunt after a venture he did not honestly feel he could acquire.

If this ends up being true, I'd love to see Cuban take on Reinsdorf and MLB in court.

This is on LITERALLY a dozen different sites.

LITERALLY.

Liar, I could probably find 13 sites it is on.

Lemme guess...is your blog #13?
