On the ticket topic, I was able to just buy 2 in section 427 for Tuesday night's game against Milwaukee. It took about 10 minutes of refreshing to get the option of being able to select 2 tickets and then another 10 minutes of refreshing to get seats.

Just now? I just looked and can only get singles

Could they possibly have sold all those tickets already? If so, I will admit to being wrong and they were justified in charging premium prices.

They are talking about Tuesday night at Wrigley.

Ohhhh, now that makes more sense.

how does one go about purchasing tickets?

I posted it on the last page, or you can just go to the Brewers website.

so it took me a while to finish typing that and submit. GET OFF MY BACK ALREADY!!!

I've already spent a grand this weekend on a lot of crap I probably didn't need. is a trip to Milwaukee the right thing to do?

I wasn't trying to be a jerk at all.

And yeah, it is the right thing to do. I would if I could.

I know, I was just busting your balls. I'm staring at 2 Field Infield Box seats right behind home plate, row 9...

#-o

I don't always pick up on that....

You guys all have fun tomorrow night. Hopefully I'll be watching either on TV or 'net.

<<< still worried about not being able to watch

If I had to guess, I would think that the game won't be televised due to ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball.

What happens with Rangers games when they play Sunday nights?

This is a very good job done by MLB with this compromise. The 1 game being left back is brilliant. Not only does it help pacify the Astros, it also keeps both teams pitching staffs intact. Now neither team will have to use their 6th starter in a game this week, which will benefit both the Cubs and Astros much more than what city they play in. Then you add in the fact that the extra game has a 70-80 percent chance of not being played and it makes even more sense.

It will be interesting to see how Lou changes the rotation. He had of course the entire order written down, and now he can do pretty much anything he wants with it. My guess is that Harden will probably slot in Thursday (pitch against the Brewers while still having 6 days off) but I'm not sure how the rest will go. If you wanted to do the best matchups against teams, you'd probably go Marquis (or Dempster) tomorrow, Lilly Monday, Z Tuesday, Dempster (or Marquis) Wednesday, Harden Thursday. I would definitely pitch Lilly on Monday whichever ways the others go though. He shouldn't be anywhere near the Brewers series with the Cubs having the ability to dictate the rotation like this.

I don't think they could get away with NOT televising a Cubs game

I wouldn't get home until well after midnight in all likelihood.

It might be the right thing to do as a Cubs fan, but it's the wrong thing to do as an employee.

But that's just me. If you can swing it, then definitely go.

Didn't Lilly pitch pretty well last time out against the Brewers?

Personally I wouldn't want an amped up Z going in his first start back against the Brewers. A nice quiet Monday afternoon game against the Astros in a neutral site seems like a better place for him to keep his emotions from taking over and overthrowing and hurting the shoulder again.

Yes. This.

Lou's already said he wants Z out there and soon. He'll go either tomorrow or Monday, count on it.

Hopefully tomorrow so we get him for the 3rd game of the Brewer series

Yeah, hopefully not.

So no Marquis in the Brewers series now :good:

As much as I've been ripping Marquis, his numbers since July have been halfway decent.

But still, who would you rather have out there... Marquis or Dempster? These are still pretty big games and I don't trust Marquis under pressure at all.

He pitched ok. 6 innings, 7 hits, 3 runs, 1 walk, 4 strikeouts, 2 home runs.

Milwaukee has a huge split between left-handers and right-handers though (.826 vs .738). Houston has a similar split, but much less pronounced (.779 vs .735). If we're setting up Lilly for his best chance to succeed, Monday would be his day.

Zambrano's healtht is way more important than anything that has to do with Lilly.
