So is it in the Astros' interest to announce, say, a game in Milwaukee tomorrow as late as possible so that the place isn't full of Cub fans?

And on that note, if the game was announced late tonight, how many do you think would show at Miller Park tomorrow night? I'd put it at 15,000 or so. Probably fill the lower level.

Considering it's 8:30 and nothing has been announced, I'm assuming that there won't be a game tomorrow.

The forecast has the rain moving out of Arlington, TX for tomorrow, so there is a potential location. The Rangers start a series on Monday, but have Thursday off. There's a possibility of moving the series there which would be the closest major league venue to the Astros.

ON ANOTHER NOTE: THE BREWERS ARE STILL WAITING TO HEAR IF THE CUBS-ASTROS SERIES WILL BE MOVED TO MILLER PARK FOR SUNDAY AND MONDAY. WORD IS THAT HOUSTON IS STILL FIGHTING TO KEEP IT THERE AND THE UNION WANTS ATLANTA AS A NEUTRAL SITE IF ONE IS USED BECAUSE THE ASTROS SAY MILLER PARK WILL BE LIKE A HOME GAME FOR THE CUBS. AND THEY'RE RIGHT.

From the JS blog

Atlanta's forecast:

Sunday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Partly cloudy, with a high near 89. South wind 5 to 10 mph increasing to between 15 and 20 mph. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.

Sunday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. Southwest wind around 5 mph.

Monday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. North wind around 5 mph.

Does it really make sense to mess with another series to help out this one? Seems like your breaking one thing to fix another.

and that is probably why Rangers Ballpark in Arlington isn't being mentioned. There's a conundrum here. Milwaukee is the safest bet due to the roof; however, that one is not palatable to the Astros. Atlanta is available, but the forecast of rain makes that one improbable. At this stage there's no easy solution. My guess is that it ends up in Milwaukee, but it may not happen easily.

St. Louis forecast is 80% chance of "heavy" rain all day tomorrow, so I'm sure we're out as a possibility.

EDIT: At this point, what they really need to do is figure out where they can play the DH on Monday. Then they are only left worrying about making up one game at the end of the season. And the chances that extra game will be needed are greatly reduced.

It would make sense if they have already agreed on no game tomorrow and are just trying to figure out where to play Monday. But I wish they would just announce that. Doesn't seem like it should be that difficult.

Seriously, just play a DH Monday somewhere. I don't really care. We are going to make the playoffs and have HFA everywhere, I just wnat to see some baseball somewhere at some time.

lol guy on ESPNEWS just said they had breaking news...

Said they'd play tomorrow night and Monday afternoon... Graphic said "Cubs-Astros series moved to Milwaukee" while the guy said "both games will be played at Minute Maid Park in Houston."

How fitting with the way this has all gone.

I have to believe the anchor is wrong, since the other reports are saying Milwaukee too and there's no way in hell they could play in MMP tomorrow night.

I'm guessing seats will be really cheap and will either be GA or they won't care where you sit.

When the Marlins came to the Cell tickets were I think $10 and it was general admission

MLB.com[/url]"]The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced tonight that two of this weekend's scheduled games between the Chicago Cubs and the Houston Astros, which had been scheduled to be played at Minute Maid Park in Houston, have been moved to Milwaukee's Miller Park due to the effects of Hurricane Ike. The games will be played at 7:05 p.m. Central Time on Sunday evening and 1:05 p.m. Central Time on Monday afternoon. The Astros will be the home club. The third game of the series, if necessary, will be played in Houston on Monday, September 29th.

That's what I figured they would do. Maybe $10 for lower level and $5 for upper. Something like that.

I'll be very interested to see what kind of crowd gets up there...

OK that makes sense.
