Your the ones who don't get it. It was a tight game and Sheets wanted to finish it. This pitch count thing has gotten out of hand. Do you talk in the thread everytime a guy goes over 100 pitches? I doubt it. Society has become so critical and now we live in the world where you are supposed to do as little as possible. When a guy wants to work more than others it is looked as a negative. As someone has pitched my entire life and still does at 32, I really don't see what the big deal is. But if he plays for a team you dislike everything can be looked at as negative I suppose. Just digging for ways to make yourself feel good?

120 is generally considered a red flag anywhere. You appear to be in the same mindset of many Cub fans in 2003. Anything to get to the playoffs. No big deal to go 120, those guys are horses and will be fine.

To be fair to Yost, Sheets will be a Ranger and CC a Yankee next year.

121 pitches for Sheets. I really don't get it.

Well to his credit

A) They are only 3 games up on a playoff spot

B) The score was 1-0

C) The bullpen pitched a lot of innings yesterday

D) It's September

E) Sheets only threw 54 pitches in his last start.

I am a big fan of watching PCs, but sometimes you guys take it too far. There are some instances where it is perfectly acceptable for your pitcher to throw 120 pitches, and this is one of them.

I, for one, was just tracking his pitch count out of my own interest. Despite the fact that, outside of Gagne, the Brewers have a decent bullpen, I don't think Yost has much faith in them so it's understandable that he would keep Sheets in there in a 1-0 game.

It's dumb for the fact that Yost's bullpen isn't as bad as he seems to think, but like I said, I can see why he would want to just leave his starter in there. This game doesn't even rank in the top-10 for "Dumbest things Ned Yost has done with a pitcher."

In all honesty, if there ever was a time to throw 120 pitches this would be it. The thing I'd be concerned about as a Brewer's fan is his injury issues. Not it matters for the distant future but it would suck to have his arm fall off (hyperbole) during the playoffs.

I'm kind of worried that Aramis is the only guy that's out of the game.

I know you couldn't have known this when you posted, but Soto's out now also.

high pitch counts have a proven correlation with likelihood of injury. but i guess if you want to close your eyes and pretend that "guys these days are just pansies" then go ahead.

Koyie Hill in

no longer worried

I'm still kind of worried that Aramis was pulled an inning before everyone else

Think Soriano gets a 6th AB?

If Lou leaves him in, he certainly could.

Picture of RICH Hill on scoreboard during Koyie Hill's at-bat. They took it down now.

LOL...I miss Rich.

Thanks for the laugh though Bruce.

Nah. A four game lead makes me feel pretty good.

But letting Sheets throw 120 pitches when he left his last start with an injury is stupid no matter how you slice it.

I'm not all that sure of the wisdom of keeping Marquis in here, either.

He's actually been one of our better starters lately.

The bullpen's been getting worked and I don't expect him to make the playoff roster.

I'm fine with it.
