If we don't win tonight I'm killing some small animal

maybe a large insect

I had hoped I wouldn't have to roll them out again, but the Cubs leave me no choice.

Let's just say they're REALLY hoping you win tonight, Cubs.

Despite losing 5 in a row, the Cubs took over the least runs allowed in the NL and are 1st in runs scored and 1st in runs allowed hahaha

I've got a really good feeling about this game. I think the off day came at the perfect time and the team is gonna go into this looking for blood and beat the everloving [expletive] out the Reds.

I think I would have rather won 5 in a row 10 to 9.

Don't forget to wipe your Arroyo.

I was thinking wipe your Dusty, but that works too.

Any chance Lou shakes up the lineup at all tonight and moves DLEE out of the three spot or possibly give him the night off?

I think moving him around the lineup at this point is too drastic a change. Give him more days off to rest him with a combo of Aramis, Geo and Hoff hitting 3-5.

So just so Im perfectly clear, even if the Cubs lose, and the Brewers win,if the Phillies lose, we still get 1 shave of the playoff MN?

Yes

Magic number = the number of Cubs wins + other team's losses that it will take to clinch. That's all it is.

No offense, but how hard are magic numbers to comprehend? I am not singling you out at all LLF, but it just seems like no one understands the concept of it.

All a magic number is is # of Cubs wins + # of 2nd place team's losses to clinch a division title/wild card.

So a magic number can be reduced by a Cubs win or a Brewers loss for the division. A magic number 18 can be achieved by 18 Cubs wins, 18 Brewers losses, or 9 Cubs wins and 9 Brewers losses, or any combination in between.

Cubs just go at least 14-8 and ease our concerns.

Also, pre game rally pic:

Actually, its the # of games left - the difference in the loss column of 2nd place team + 1. So 22 Games left, Brewers are 5 games back in the LC, 22-5 = 17. Add 1 to get 18. (17 would clinch a tie).

Well that's just weird.

I only watch Japanese cartoons when the women are being "tentacled" by large sea monsters

Come on, no one here plays Trauma Center?

Thats it wise guy, its the foes list for you.

no, not really.

But still, the magic number is perfectly easy to comprehend for the divivision when its a 2 team race, but it gets a bit confusing when dealing with the on for a playoff spot, if only the Brewers have to lose, or the Phillies, or both. Now I get it that only that Phillies have to lose.
