The Cubs, along with every other team aside from the Red Sox, have deals with StubHub. The more tickets sold on StubHub, the more money that is made. It only makes sense that they'd encourage people to go through StubHub than a private broker.

As for those expensive seats, they were never going on sale to the public, anyways. Those are season tickets. Only select seats in the 200, 400, and 500 levels, along with bleacher seats, are being made available in the on sale.

When I was looking for tickets last year I pulled up tickets in the 100 level

I got my rejection email at about 11 pm last night as well. I guess they are holding my entry for World Series tickets.

Really? I assume outfield, though, right?

Those are few and far between. Bleacher tickets make up nearly half of those that they sell for playoff games and most of the 200 level seats are either in the back or in the corner.

But only Lottery and Stubhub? I don't think that's fair to the us fans.

The opportunity to also purchase tickets first come, first serve basis.

I'm not sure what you mean. Ticket sales are only held through cubs.com (or rather mlb.com by the looks of it). StubHub is a secondary market site. The Cubs aren't selling tickets on StubHub. Those are from individuals and it's no different than selling on eBay or craigslist. They're simply promoting StubHub as an alternative for those who didn't get selected in the lottery because they have an agreement with them, just like they've been doing all season long.

Do you really believe that? Has anyone on this forum received notice that they won this so-called lottery?

Yes, three or four have already posted in this thread that they have.

Passwords are selling for upwards of $400 on eBay. Mind you, you still have to buy the actual tickets in addition to that $400 cost.

Last year after ticket prices started out really high, they fell as it came closer to game time. If I am able to find a pair somewhere in the park for $200 I'll bite.

I still haven't gotten an email either way. Do you think its worth my time to call them and see whats up? Who knows I might have gotten selected and there was a processing error

I got an email from the DBacks with the subject line "NLDS Ticket Opportunity Winner" but the email was blank.

That's probably because there won't be a need to sell DBacks playoff tickets this season.

Meaning what? Camping out at Wrigley for 3 weeks to be first in line for tickets? The dumbass VWR? Which was just a more unfair version of this lottery? Fact is nobody is gonna be happy with the system unless they get tickets.

ummmm.....how would I do that without giving my password to the world....

If it's a number and/or letter combination, then it's unique. If it's something like "chicago," then it would be generic.
