What question? I've already said that I'm not really worried about missing the playoffs, I just can't stand how you act as though it's impossible and nothing like that has ever happened in baseball. Stuff like that happens all the time, yet you completely shrug off the possibility.

I'm not really sure what you're arguing here. Are you saying we should worry about anything that's possible? At what point should we worry about things as a realistic possibility? Do you worry about plane crashes every time you board a plane? I mean, where do you draw the line?

It doesn't happen all the time. It happens 1% of the time. Are you saying I should acknowledging it's possible? OK, it's possible (I already did that, actually). It's also one of the most unlikely things you could ever see happen.

What question?

I'll ask for the 3rd time. If the odds showed the Cubs had a 1% chance of making the playoffs, would you consider making the playoffs a realistic possibility? I'd consider you quite the optimist if you did.

I haven't been able to watch the whole game tonight. How has the offense's approach been today? Has Wolf been hitting his spots or have the Cubs been impatient?

The Cubs have not won a damn thing yet. Until that magic number is zero on the playoffs, we haven't won anything.

Oh, is that how it works?

Boy this blows. Well, they weren't getting through the season without one real slump. Nobody does. Here it is and fortunately they have built a cushion. Though I'm not ready to give up on this game yet.

We've had a real slump. This is the second one. We came out of the other one tied for 1st place.

Not a big deal though, as much as people would like you to think the season is over.

Meh, that slump was really treading water over a 32 game stretch. They never looked this bad then.

Wat?

I'm talking about the 4 game losing streak and the inability to score any runs right after the All Star break... remember that?

Wold has been painting the outside corner all night and the Cubs keep trying to pull everything out of the park. Look at the spray chart someone posted.

7IP, 3ER from Dempster is not bad. Too bad the offense is anemic tonight.

It's a "crappy" start according to some.

Who in the heck is saying that?

I haven't given up on this game, but we better score in the next two innings because we have never been able to do anything off of Valverde.

The thing that gets me about this series is that Hunter Pence, a Douche who couldn't get a hit against the Brewers to save his life, comes into Wrigley and goes off. And Wiggington turns into a good left fielder as well.

But none of that compares to the Astros, without Carlos Lee, the guy who kills the Cubs like no other player, coming in here and possibly sweeping us.

So, Lee kills us yet we can beat them when he plays. Now we figure with him out for the season, we'd handle them no problem. Nope.

Sometimes Baseball makes ZERO sense.

With the way some people are talking around here, I'm not completely sure everyone knows that.

Hmmm... one poster said the Cubs had the worst pitching in baseball and that Dempster's stuff looked terrible... I'm no scout but it looked more or less the same as what I've seen all year
