I realize the Cubs position...and I realize that you have to be really delicate to yell at a team 30 games over .500, but with all the fundamental lapses the last few games, Lou needs to speak to the team in some fashion.

 

We've gone through 135 games this year without seeing the things that we've seen several times over the past few days. They look slightly shellshocked out there.

ESPN 1000 was pretty much all over Lee today. Silvy and Waddle and then Jurko. Jurko called him Derrek Theriot.

More relevantly, see 2008 Cubs immediately after the All Star break. They slumped badly then, and then quickly proceeded to completely dominate their way to the best record in baseball. Every team slumps, even the best ones. They'll eventually get out of it, and go back to being a great team.

Considering defensive position and salary, Theriot is far more valuable than Lee right now.

This garbage is very reminiscant of the post all star game funk, and they got out of that one, so we'll what happens.

The worst part of this series, is that the Cubs will be shut-out in two of the three games. Roy Oswalt shutting us out is one thing, but Randy Wolf....there is no excuse.

 

When the Cubs get to Houston in a couple of weeks, they better return the favor to the Astros.
