Yeah another thread on NSBB where three or four posters blow what someone says way out of the water and continue to run with it refusing to see at least some logic. No soriano wasn't the sole reason we were 26-28 without him but he was a large reason for it. A good portion of the time he was out our offense struggled mightly but once he came back it picked back up. He has a big impact on how our offense runs and he has dominanted more than any other Cub hitter this year. Add in he is one the best team in the NL and its obvious to anyone who will have an open mind that he deserves some MVP consideration. Right now he's not leading but he's top 5 and if he continues to hit like he is right now to the end of the season he could still win it.

This board has a very very large problem with the mob mentality. One person jumps on someone and the whole group follows suit. Cool your jets and stop being a bunch of pricks.

First of all, I'm not surprised that you are siding with the person who now holds the title for NSBB's dumbest argument.

Secondly, any merit to the base argument for Soriano as MVP was completely destroyed by the OP's pigheadedness and his insistence on following W/L stats without Soriano exclusively, while ignoring rational discussion using real stats that ACTUALLY determine MVP candidacy.

Eh, that was sort of unnecessary.

Maybe, but it was FUN

Fixed. Thanks for the post but it really doesn't matter. The fact they fail to see anything with regards to Sori and what his value is speaks to how clueless they really are.

I gave them the team record and personal stats and it still doesn't register with them.

No worries.

The team record with and without him has absolutely no baring on the freaking MVP voting. It's an oscure point of trivia.

The guy is a valuable member of the Cubs. He is not a legit MVP candidate in the national league this year.

You cannot argue coherently. I am sorry that this makes us clueless somehow. Honestly, mob mentality is a problem here, and yes a lot of arguments that "mobs" have used to tear down other people's unpopular arguments have come back to burn them.

But this is a completely different case. It was a poorly constructed argument, you chose to ignore all rebuttals that refuted your point, and you basically hid behind one statistic that can loosely at best be related to your argument.

Isn't this the same board with many posters who thought Theriot was garbage? :rotfl:

aren't you the same guy that soriano should win the NL MVP? :rotfl:

You are not very smart. But, hey, keep posting.

I wonder what the W/L record for team USA without Shawn Johnson is. She is the Olympics MVP!

It's a shame that Ichiro won the MVP in 2001

Olerud played 2 more games than him and Bret Boone one more. Clearly Ichiro should have come in 3rd in voting that year.

That and Giambi put up a 1.137 OPS to Ichiro's .838.
