Why not just let Riot hit there? It's not like he's hitting over .300 and is fast enough to beat out most double play balls unless they are rockets (which Theriot isn't exactly known for) hit right at somebody.

 

Theriot is actually a big DP candidate because of hit tendency to hit ground balls. He hits into a DP a greater percentage of his available opportunities than any other Cub.

yes but he also has a .391 OBP, so he also does a lot of good things when he's batting.
