YES! That's the key hit I've been looking for from DeRosa.

I know his RISP numbers are high but he hasn't been doing much of anything lately.

Remember at the beginning of the season and you liked Fukudome in spots like this?

Now I just expect a squibber to SS or a spinning strike out.

I only expect the latter.

Well he hit it out of the infield, but yeah. He used to frustrate pitchers more by fouling off everything. Doesn't do that anymore.

Wait, the Cubs are actually winning now? You mean, they actually got a walk and strung together some hits to get runs? Amazing!

I said this in yesterday's thread but I think it's worth repeating that our right field situation isn't significantly better than last year.

So I turn the game on late, somehow within 18 minutes, the Astros have been retired and the Cubs have scored runs? WTF?

You mean, including JJ? :-k

So, what do you think my odds are of getting tickets to Friday or Saturday's game for less than $100/ticket?

I guess it'd be easy to get tickets to tomorrow's game, but I already saw Marquis once on my trip, and it'd be great to see the Cubs play the Cards.

2007 RFs: .293 .375 .419 .794

2008 RFs: .266 .374 .400 .774

2008 Fuk: .277 .379 .410 .789

Yeah there's a pretty decent defensive improvement which makes the Cubs overall better in 2008 but you are right, not a big improvement.

So I'm at work...was Aramis' AB just a bad AB or did he do something dumb?

He swung at a crappy pitch and hit it 3 feet in front of home plate. Terrible at-bat.

I know that I had more faith in Jacque than I do Fukudome. He made a splash, but has been unimpressive at the plate since May.

I liked Jacque Jones :( Sad that he was traded, but I guess we have enough outfielders.
