Christ... Fukudome has not been terrible.

He's almost OPSing .800, he's got a .380 OBP, and go ahead and look at other Japanese players in their first seasons (save Ichiro)...

Matsui put up .287/.353/.435 his first year with the Yankees...

It's his first season in the US, give him a break.

Nobody tried to draw overall conclusions from it that I saw. His last 28 days are .237/.326/368. He's OPSing .694 in that time period. He has been bad RECENTLY.

Not to mention, he looks completely clueless out there on some of his at bats. Swinging at ball way out of the zone and doing a little pirouette.

For the contact he signed, he's been awful. He's an average outfielder, but he's making 12 mil/year. Yes, I know that's Hendry's fault, not Kosukue's but the reality is that the contract somewhat dictates expectations.

I don't care about what he "looks" like. I don't care about what anyone looks like. I care about what they produce. People don't like strikeouts because they "look" bad, when the reality is they're no worse than any other out.

Yes, Kosuke has had his slumps, but overall he has been fairly productive, and if you didn't expect an adjustment period for a player that is coming to a substantially more difficult league, I don't know what to tell you. Like I said, we've seen the same thing before with other Japanese players making the leap.

I love looking at ESPN's score page and seeing "top performers" on the top being all Cubs

Go to the Cubs page and look at the Cubs league ranks in the different categories. Last I checked, first in all the offensive categories that matter (and a couple that don't matter, too).

51 pitches (42 of them strikes) through 4 for Harden. He could go eight today. I probably wouldn't let him if the Cubs are up big, but if he has more 11 pitch innings, he'd still be under 100 pitches by that time.

Nice work cameraman. Girl in bikini cooling herself by pouring water on her chest area.

Damnit. I didn't get that with the Astros telecast! :x

Steve Stone on The Score trying to disparage Scott Eyre by saying there "might have been an issue on one of the flights that was delayed because of him..." Then he says he's not at liberty to go into it. Well, then why bring it up unless you have an agenda or want to sound like you know something more than the rest of us.

Stone is a hack. Not worth listening to him. Just a bunch of hot air.

Agreed. He's not the same announcer as he was in the 80's and early 90's. Now he's a pompous windbag that doesn't deserve the acclaim he gets.

I just pray for Harden health. Just give us 2-3 more months. PLEASE!

How long do we control Harden?

We have a club option for next year.

Well that'll probably send Harden's ERA back over 2 for the season...

2.05 according to Gameday.
