Cubs win!

Brewers lose!

Twins win!

White Sox lose!

Cardinals lose?

Twins in 1st place, priceless!! 8-)

We're not WSI.

Does it bother you the classless punks on the South side lost? Not me!!

I'll post what I want, thanks.

Nope, it doesn't bother me or make me happy. They're not in our division and have nothing to do with us. And us not being obsessed with them is something which makes us a bit more classy, IMO.

I just got home. What's the deal with Z? Somebody please tell me they shortened him up on purpose and he's not hurt.

Lou did it to give Z a rest after two long outings, no need to worry.

Well that's the speculation but do you know for sure? I won't relax until Lou says that's the case.

Nope, it's not speculation Dex, Lou just confirmed it in the post game press conference.

Great little tid bit about Z hitting too:

"When I ask Z to bunt he always tells me 'how can you ask a .350 hitter to bunt?'"

I hear ya, I grew up around a lot of them and today's final scores are beautiful!

Exactly. Like I said, the Cubs and Brewers games were far more important. The White Sox falling out of first is icing on the cake today.

It's been a perfect Sunday so far. If the Cardinals lose, it stays that way.

14-3 to the Royals??

This wasn't really worth its own thread, so I'll just post it here.

Every team in the NL Central is playing above their pythagorean records except the Cubs. The Cubs are actually 2 games UNDER their pythag. Weird.

Not obsesed at all. It was fourth on my list. However, there are tens of thousands of Cubs fans who are smiling after they fell out of first. I'm one of them.

They and a lot of the fans over there deserve it.

It happens. I know, at one point, the Cubs had equaled their Pythagorean about a month ago. I expect that things will adjust.

i'm happy, but that's because i was born in minnesota and my best friend is a twins fan, so they're my american league team to root for. otherwise i wouldn't give a crap.

When the Cubs ar doing bad, I want the White Sox to do bad, but when the Cubs are doing good, I could really care less what the Sox are doing.

Kinda frustrated that Z had to be shortened up to 5 innings today. I still don't understand why Z had to come in for the 8th inning last week in Milwaukee. The Cubs had a 7 run lead, and Z threw I think 103 pitches coming into that inning. Oh well, can't complain about a win.

Has Reed hit a meaningless HR yet?

I'm glad Lou realizes it's something to be watched over. But yeah, it woulda been nice if he was forward thinking enough to not make it a problem for no reason.

that Reed Johnson reaction was the best of the year I think

Jim Edmonds in the throw back game.

i meant player reaction. Maybe Pie's HR back in April was better. Don't know. But Reed swinging and raising his fist right away was amazing

What about the Rammy epic bat flip?

My favorite of the year.

Reed's was cool too.

I know the Cubs lost the game, but Fukudome's bat flip against the Brewers on Opening Day was awesome as well.

Yeah, I know that's what I was talking about, when Edmonds tied it up in the 9th and started leaping down the first base line.

ITs awesome we got Reed for basically nothing and didn't have to give up anybody

Funny how things work out isn't it? We were all calling CF a hole (rightfully so probably) and then we get 2 guys cheap in Edmonds and Johnson and look at the #'s their putting up in a platoon. It's got to be above .900 OPS I'm sure (since we've aquired Edmonds). Which proves either 1) It's our year, or 2) you don't always have to feel every position is perfect at the start of the season.

Either one of Aramis's bat flips - Sox or Giants game winners - were right there with Reed's reaction today.
