I check this thread once a week or so, and am consistently impressed by the amount of stupid and insipid negativity regarding this team. Well done.

You'd think they were in a brutal slump and losing ground so fast it's hard to keep track or something.

Hey, guess who has the better track record? The people predicting doom for the Cubs or the people telling them not to?

:-k

But yet you keep coming back. :good:

What part of "impressed" is hard to understand? This is the place I go when I think I've become too negative about the team...it makes me realize I have a long way to go before Crazytown.

Well, I enjoyed sole possession of first place.

They'll be a few games into second after the Milwaukee series. The Brewers are on freakin' fire right now, and the Cubs are playing like.... well, the Cubs.

It's the same drivel post after post with you.

I'm sorry you don't like hearing the truth. If you don't like it, ignore me. Otherwise, stop your complaining.

And remember this post. Post it after the July 31st game, and we'll see who's right. I'm predicting this is the last I'll hear of it from you.

If they ever threaten to ban people for showing negativity or sarcastic joy in game threads, these things wouldn't clear 5 pages.

But yeah, showing emotions and heat of the moment antics is dumb of fans. BOO, US!!

So can Soriano just not run at all anymore? I don't understand, he's sidelined for 6 weeks, has had plenty of time to rest his hamstring, and he's still slow as hell? Has he just completely lost his speed?

Horrible. Can we DFA Howry yet? He really has no purpose and Lou just can't stop using him in close games.

Seriously folks, Lou needs to put Soriano in the heart of the damn lineup. I know he doesnt like ti there, but I dont like some of the stuff I have to do at my job, but thats what they pay me for, and I do it. Granted, he hasnt been red hot, but a shake up is needed.

Theriot

Lee

Soriano

Ramirez

Fukudome

Soto

3-5 over 8 games. Let's just end the season now. Might as well.

Hey-guess who is less annoying? The people predicting doom or the rational people who understand that an 8 game stretch in July means virtually nothing in a 162 game season?

So what past cubs teams have done is a precursor to what this team will do?

News to me.

We're in an offense slump. Ramirez is terrible right now, a bunch of other guys are below average, and we've also had our fair share of bad luck. The Brewers will not win every game the rest of the year! Relax! There is still a TON of baseball left.

Clearly Ramirez and co will hit .100 the rest of the season.

Does no one realize that Aramis actually made pretty damn good contact in his last at bat but hit it right at the third basemen?

It's called a game thread.

After reading the last 5 pages it's hard to believe we have the best record in the NL.

No kidding. What did some of these posters do the years the cubs actually had a bad team?

Had the best record by 5.5 games 2 weeks ago, 0.5 games now. Oh, and because the 2nd and 3rd best teams in our division are also the 2nd and 3rd best teams in the NL, losing best record status means losing 1st place.

Apathy. Read the 2006 game logs....all 2 pages of them.

Yeah, I did. At first I thought it had a chance to find the hole, but it was just more bad luck. He'll come out of it soon, hopefully tomorrow.

Accepted the fact that we had a bad team. Its alot more frusterating when you have the kind of team that weve put together.

Granted it couldn't be helped that Milwaukee is on an 8-game winning streak, but losing a 5.0 game lead in just 8 games, and only a little over 2 months left (and that September schedule we've got to face)?? And Bob Howry as the main "setup/tie game in 9th" bullpen guy? And how could I forget that sterling road record.

Not the least bit worrisome at all. Party time!

Doesn't make it any less crazy. Its like the people who use "I was drunk" to justify the stupid things they do at bars. Most of the time, its simply who they actually are without the inhibitions.

I can deal with the frustration of a temporarily underachieving team. I can't deal with the frustration of a bad team.

Its called - Brewers hot streak + Cubs cold streak. When the Cubs won 9 in a row, I believe it was the same time the Brewers were getting swept in Boston.

Wow-there's about 700 miles of difference between realistic worries and Chicken Little stupidity.

People sure do love to belittle people of opinions they don't want to hear.

Get real. Nobody is panicking because we lost a few games. I've been strongly concerned about this team for quite awhile because we have serious bullpen problems, not the least of which are that our manager doesn't have the slightest clue how to manage one, and we are in a very tough division.

This isn't about a bad week and a half. It's about the Brewers being an exceptional team, several other good teams in the NL, our bullpen showing all kinds of negative indicators, and many other negative signs that were easy to brush aside the first time we reached 20 over.

Every team goes through slumps. Be patient...we'll be just fine.

Almost as much as people want to whine about the impending doom every second of every day.
