Pitching matchups for the series:

Harden (2.12) vs. Volstad (2.16 - 2 starts all year)

That should be fun.

Great, another ND for Harden coming right up

2 starts all year usually means we get bamboozled.

It's like our team has never heard of game film or advance scouting before.

Pitching matchups for the series:

Zambrano (2.98) vs. Olsen (3.84)

Dempster (3.05) vs. Johnson (3.86)

Harden (2.12) vs. Volstad (2.16 - 2 starts all year)

Marquis (4.44) vs. VandenHurk (6.10)

Cubs take 3/4

 You gotta feel sorry for any lineup that has to see those three in consecutive days.

You know what's really awesome??? Is that the rotation will line up like so for the Milwaukee series next week...

Lilly

Zambrano

Dempster

Harden

Wow. Volstad is a stud, but we all know how good Harden is. Definitely a great pitching matchup on paper.

The Cubs are 3-0 this year when I post within the first three pages of the game thread.

Yes, I'll take credit for that.

So, the 42 losses are your fault then?

Dan Uggla is 1-22 since his all star game meltdown. Let's not change that this series.

Thnx for the jinx. He'll be a monster in this series now.

some late arriving lineups tonight

More than an hour away, right? Not that late.

We normally get them in exactly 1 hour before the game. And right now its a good 1 hours and 10 minutes plus remaining.

Total of 5 balls to 4 batters is a nice ratio, so far.

5 of his first 6 pitches were balls, including a 4 pitch walk. He finished the inning with 7 straight strikes.

Reed hitting 5th?

Good lord, Lou, just because the guy took one out last night doesn't make him a no. 5 hitter.

Well, he does have better numbers against left-handers than the 3 hitters behind him this season. He should be batting either 5th or 6th tonight.

Hill lost it there for about 12 pitches to start the second inning and got bailed out by some bad base running.

Rich Hill's 2nd inning:

5 pitch walk.

5 pitch walk. Threw 7 straight balls at one point.

Coaching visit.

Wild pitch. Runners to 2nd and 3rd.

Flyout. Runner scores. Other runner is caught in a pickle, 7-4-5-6. Two outs.

4-3 ground out.

2 IP, 0 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 1 K, 2 GO-2 FO, 28 pitches (13 strikes)

Yeah i was just about to say almost the same thing. The dude hit a grand slam and now hes a No. 5 hitter for Lou. I dont think this is his first time batting 5th this year.
