What is everyone's worry level?

Losing 5 out of the last 6 is pretty much unacceptable. A team with as much talent as the Cubs should have been able to win at least 1 game in each series.

Hopefully they don't just blame everything on injuries and realize there are serious holes on this team and that they aren't able to be covered up by Geo's hot start or Theriot's mirage start anymore or that Marmol is very good, but not untouchable. Let's get someone Hendry.

My worry level will peak when they play like this when totally healthy. The starters haven't been too bad, (especially Marshall) but Lee and Ramirez need to get hot and stay hot for a while.

Scale of 1-10? I'd say about a 4.

I'd be much more worried if we were playing at full strength and playing crappy teams. Also, despite going 1-5 this week, we are still 2.5 games up in the division and 4.5 up on the wild card.

If we have a 1-6 week next week, I'll be up to about a 9

losing to two teams with winning records. not desirable, but we aren't getting killed by the Royals and Giants here.

Not yet, but we are pretty much forsure going to lose 2 to the Giants (Cain & Lincecum) and the Orioles are garbage, no matter what their record is now, they will likely lose 90 games.

We're pretty much for sure going to lose 2 to the Giants??

i'm not worried, but i'm annoyed for the first time this season. they're playing pretty stupid baseball.

And the Cardinals pretty much never play stupid baseball. That is the main cause for worry. They suck, we all know that, but we are still the Cubs. Stupid baseball is what we do. Fukudome has been playing Jacque-like RF lately (like throwing to 3rd to let the guy get extra base tonight) and other things like DeRosa's mind fart in the 9th (you're down 4 runs, stay on the bag, moron) are the latest examples of idiotic baseball. Getting Soriano will help in the talent department, but he isn't exactly baseball Einstein out there.

Hopefully we can get inspired by Z's return and mop the floor with the Redbirds this weekend.

+100

Injuries are a concern but we all knew even when we were 20 over that this team needed a starter. I think this mini slide is going to be a blessing in disguise, as Piniella and Hendry, if they didn't know it then, they certainly know it now, that this team can't win the world series with the rotation as is.

The offense will get back to mashing once Soriano and Johnson get back. I think it really shows how important Johnson is to this team after this past week.

We all know how much we miss Soriano.

Low with a good chance of rising if we put up a poor showing against a bad team and a team that should be bad.

It's not so much long term that I worry about, or the core of the team, it's more the other things like regularly swinging at terrible pitches (desperation?), hitting into too many double plays and suddenly not being able to have success with RISP.

Supposedly Z is pitching Friday against the Cardinals, so it's my hope from that we'll just ride the high there.

agreed. fortunately the cubs last year displayed much better fundamentals, and they chased some pretty bad fundamental players (barrett, jones) out of town. lou doesn't really tolerate mental mistakes, which is a very welcome change from dusty. i have no doubt that the cubs will get a lot of this straightened out in short time.

I'm not worried....yet. We've hit our rough patch, yet still lead the division with one of the best records in baseball. Furthermore, this rough stretch has happened while we've missed our best starting pitcher, one of our best hitters, our RH CF platoon player and our other CF is battling a sore foot and can hardly run and our SS is battling a sore hand.

I believe if we get back to full streak, we'll be fine.
