Theriot must be hurt - wonderful

Hand is hurt near thumb with some swelling. They wouldn't tell us that yesterday. He hit in the cage and did all the drills. Should be able to play tomorrow.

Thanks Bruce. Glad to hear it's not serious.

Man the wounded list is really piling up. Obviously at this point of the season probably every player has something thats ailing them, but I can't believe how many players recently have missed time due to ailments

-Soriano

-Johnson

-Ward

-Edmonds

-Fukudome

-Theriot

-Zambrano

-Eyre

Funny because the usual injury kings Ramirez and Wood are pretty darn healthy this year.

Gameday says the wind is blowing out to left @ 21 mph !! This could get very interesting very fast !!

Considering the Sox score a ton of their runs via the long ball, that really doesn't play well into our hands.

True.... but we've been known to score a bunch by the home run, too. Here's hoping for the best.

Ramirez-Edmonds-Soto are hitting 5-6-7 and are probably the guys I have the most faith in considering Kosuke's injury and Lee's hitting as of late.

At this point, I much rather have ARam/Edmonds hit 3-4, and Lee/Ward hitting 5-6. It's a CRIME that ARam is being forced to hit 5th.

I personally would extend that to Ward as well considering the matchup. He's as good of a hitter as pretty much anybody else in our lineup against right-handed pitching. He just doesn't have a starting job because he cannot hit left-handers, cannot field his position, is very slow, and is injury prone. 3 of those 4 qualities aren't present today, and his speed is the least of those concerns. Plus he's been hitting line drive after line drive the last couple days. His hits haven't been cheap at all.

And I'm fine with Fontenot getting more starts. He's been playing well lately and has pretty good stats for a second baseman, even though he has still been unlucky on his BABIP on the season.

Overall, not a bad lineup at all. A lot of either traditionally good or hot right now hitters in that lineup. It's hard to decide which is more important when making out the actual order. The main thing I would have wanted would be to have Ramirez at 3.
