Guess who won't be watching this game, because the almighty Yankees and Mets are playing a series and I am in an eastern market!

Anyway, bitterness aside, here's what we have to look forward to with this game. For the Cubs, the following young lad takes the mound, sporting a line of 3-3, 3.97 ERA, 17 BB, 39 K. I'm fairly certain that most, if not all, of those runs and walks were due to poor luck and/or lousy umpire work.

Sean will be facing a guy named Javier Vasquez, who has a 7-6 record, 4.24 ERA, 29 BB and 97 K.

Note that the size of the photo is proportional to the quality of the pitcher.

Let's break that 2-game losing streak and sew up a win in the season series against the Sox. Go Cubs!

No PAs against Gallagher.

Over/under for how many DP's Lee hits into today?

0. Lou has instructed him not to swing at anything if he comes to the plate with runners on 1st and less than 2 out. If he manages to coax a walk, more power to him.

Dear New York: Please rain hard enough so that Yankees - Mets is rained out and I get to watch the Cubs game.

not gonna happen... you and me are s.o.l. without going to a bar and watching the game.

My daughter has two birthday parties to go to today, one at noon and one at 3:30. I'm trying to angle for noon duty so I can watch the game. Wife for some reason also wants noon duty. I might have to wrestle her for it.

Wow, looking at those career numbers, we should crush Vasquez today. I'm still not completely sold on Gallagher though.

As long as Lee doesnt play as Conon the Rally Killer, I agree. We really need to start putting some win streaks together here. Its the first time since like May where our last 10 games have been <.500. Granted, The Cards and Brewers have their hands full with the 2 hottest teams in baseball, but Im sick of being content with breaking even. We need to pull away, even if just a few games.
