Am I crazy to think we win this game with Soriano?

HURRY BACK SORI!

Sori would help but let's not forget that Marshall was taking Z's start. Most likely this game is a win with Z on the mound.

Nice to see that these boys can still remind us that they're the Cubs every so often when we start to forget.

That was a joke. Absolutely pathetic. Load the bases and then don't even make contact with the ball. Disgusting.

They were down 7-1 and came within a single of tying it in the 9th. Let's be honest here... 2 of the guys batting in the 9th should never even bat in big spots and the other (Fukudome) had no chance against Sherrill. They still showed the ability to come back.

Exactly. Once they fell behind 7-1, they had no business being in the game. The fact that they were within a single of tying it or a double of winning it in the 9th with 3 chances is more of a testament to how really, really good this team is.

Agree completely about how this game shows the team is a good team after being down 7-1 and fighting back to a single away from a tie, it helps me to get over the losses much easier than normal.

I've slept on it, and you guys do have a point. However, it still sickens me somewhat that such good patience was shown to load the bases, and then it all went out the window with the last 3 hitters of the game. All that hard work wasted for no good reason.

If the Orioles had made some good defensive plays, or the Cubs had worked the count then struck out on some nasty pitches, I'd have been more accepting. But those were three terrible AB's with the game on the line.

We showed moderate patience. I don't think Soto's or Theriot's hits were anything special...both could have easily have been outs, and Theriots hit, if 2 feet in either direction, could have been a DP.

They did work the count to get into a situation where they could make solid contact with the ball however.

As soon as Cedeno swung at the first pitch I knew we were screwed.

OK, the Cubs have only lost 9 games at home....yet I've been there for 5 of those losses.

THAT IS NOT FAIR WITH A TEAM THIS GOOD.

I've been to 8 games this year... they're 2-6 in said games.

I saw Roast trying to deal with a drunk Orioles fan out in the LCF bleachers in this game.

That 9th inning was depressing. The Cubs saw, what, 2 strikes in the 3 batters after they loaded em up, and didn't swing at either of them while hacking at everything else.
