Honest to God Bill, I thought if I kept having Trent shoot it, we'd lose and we could get you in the tourney.

After all the wins he got screwed out of last because those guys couldn't do things most 7th graders can do, he should never, ever feel bad about winning any game, no matter how ridiculous it may have been.

And I don't think I've ever seen that happen. The UCLA player just touched the ball while it was still in the player inbounding the ball's hands. And he got T'd up.

Man what a [expletive] screw job by the [expletive] refs. Offensive foul my ass. Meanwhile James Harden is elbowing guys all over the place.

If you're talking about the Collison charge, yeah that was awful. That was about the only play of the game I saw.

Do Arizona State fans really call Harden "All Day"?

17-2 run to end the game? Now that's a kick in the pants.

Northwestern is 15-7, 6-5 with 4 winnable games left if they could have avoided two massive collapses. Probably not enough for the tournament but at least a shot.

"Okay guys all we have to do is score on 2 of our final 9 possessions. OR get 3 stops on Illinois' final 11 possessions. We can still fail on over 70% of the possessions on both ends of the floor and win."

Illinois scored on 9 of their final 11 possessions. Northwestern scored on 1 of their final 9. What a meltdown.

I exaggerate not one iota when I say there was not one even 5-minute period of this season before tonight where Notre Dame looked remotely like a team that could beat Louisville 90-57 under any circumstances. Luke 32 and 17, though I fear that the ridiculous Thabeet love combined with UConn's superior record is going to snake Big East POY from him.

That is simply the best we can play. Dim tournament hopes still alive, I guess.

This is the type of game that would piss me off as a fan when my team is underachieving.

It makes you wonder where this team was all year.

That's the one. That would have given UCLA the lead plus a free throw.

Plus they had just gotten done calling Aboya twice for blocks that were perfect charges.

Harden gets calls Kobe and MJ couldn't dream of. I'm actually a bit wary of his NBA prospects, he's not going to get those calls in the NBA.

It was 30 minutes before tipoff that I remembered the NU/Illinois game was today.

It was 10 minutes before tipoff when I drove to Welsh Ryan with no ticket and no plan.

It was 15 minutes after tipoff when I scalped one ticket at the door.

GREATEST DECISION OF MY LIFE!!!

Haha, suck it Bruin boy.

This ASU team is annoying. Good win followed by bad loss. That's this year's theme.

Harden's NBA prospects are suspect because of his speed and injury history, not because he gets calls.

That game broke my heart. It was awesome to see the student section hugely into the game -- Illinois 2 for 12 from the FT line... coincidence? We just couldn't handle the press, which is embarrassing.

At the same time, it is a good feeling for teams to realize that NU basketball is no pushover and coming to Evanston is no easy task.

Yes, but the calls he gets help him mask his lack of speed and limited ability to go right, which is the main concern. He's got to improve in those facets at the next level because he won't get the calls to make up for it. Speed isn't as big a concern to me as his lack of development in his off hand.

ETA: I'd still take him in the top 3 - if he can develop a few moves with his off hand, he can make up for any lack of speed by just getting to spots where he's successfull a la Brandon Roy and Paul Pierce.

This sounds a lot like people's concerns with Eric Gordon.

His off hand? I didn't see Gordon that much but I wasn't that concerned.

Man, last year's draft was loaded. Gordon would be the 2nd pick in this year's draft.

You have spoken the name of the beast, and as such shall be shunned from the Illini faithful until you offer atonement for your acts of lunacy.

Bzzt. The correct answer was.

Purdue peeps is Hummel going to play today?

Our only PG, Jeff Peterson is out with a hamstring. That's always good news playing a team that forces a bunch of turnovers and pressures the ball.

Cyrus Tate is probably out again also.

PSU at home against Minny today. I'm still hoping they can finish out 3-3, but the way they've played recently, I'm not counting on it.
